Good colours to use for a martian red landscape?

Red?

anything in the dark red browns would work I\'d think.
Does it have to be Martian? or just alien?

Burnt sienna for a base, lightened for highlights and darkened for the deep color areas.

Burnt orange colors would work as well. Depends on how \"red\" you want it. I prefer a lighter more orangy-red landscape instead of a darker red.

If you\'re using GW paints, I\'d say the browns, reds and fleshes

thanks guys just got my colours on. went from dark flesh, to vermin brown, khador red highlight, desert yellow then bleached bone.

worked well will provide an update later.

even if too late to chime in. i did a crashed landere from the 40k beginner set and painted it with walmart color place red oxide primer, then went over it with a mid dark brown wash and some lighter brown drybrushing.

i never got picture of it before giving it to the person who wanted it painted but the first thing they said was did it land on mars.

i think the browns i used were apple barrel colors.
