Good looking snow bases?

I\'m looking for some help making decent snow bases, and I wondered if any of you kind people out there had some wisdom to share on the subject. I\'ve always gone for dark grey rock bases with patches of static grass to liven them up, which suited my last three WHFB armies; Night Goblins, Undead and Empire. Now I\'ve got some very dark Slaanesh chaos to finish off, and as their armour is black, I wanted to try out a different base scheme.
I\'ve got some Microballoons powder, which seems quite difficult to work with, and someone else has recommended using Plaster of Paris, but I though there must be a comprehensive Net guide to this stuff out there (that I can\'t find) - can anyone help? I would love to hear from somone who\'s done some decent snow effects (especially with pictures) I\'ve seen some great effects here but I\'ve never found an explanation of how it\'s done. My marauder unit is nearly finished and I\'d like to get basing them, but I really don\'t want to mess them up, so any help most appreciated!

Thanks,
Paul g.

thanks very much!
I reckon it\'s the possibilities for messing up good models that makes people look for advice on it...
cheers

Just before you (possibly) disappear forever

The CMON shop has started selling snow basing material.

- click on the link in the home page -

I haven\'t used it myself, but if they are trying to sell it to this lot..it must be good...:flip:

Tecstar...

The product they sell here on the CMON Shop is the most realistic looking snow available.

It is a little harder to work with, because it is so fine, but looks great.

Do you also hate that when people post here once, just asking a question and not even saying thanks or how they solved their problem? :|~

Snow bases

I like the woodland scenics brand of snow. They have their own glue but you can use diluted elmers/PVA. The snow is thin and you can pile it in layers to get drifting or clumpy effects.
