Never played it. Never will.

I\'m with you on that one. I think it\'s a rip off. You buy a game that you never actually own. Pay us or you dont play anymore. There are plenty of games out there that give just as much enjoyment, and are FREE.

Welcome to the World of War-Crack as it\'s fondly called :D

Been playing for about 3 years now - got 5 lvl 60\'s and just working my dear Tauren hunter up to lvl 80. She\'s 75 soon to be 76. I\'m on Dragonblight if anyone wants to meet up :]

There are more rip-off\'s you\'ll have to face in this life to worry about the WoW subscription! Its only the cost of 3 beers a month... or 30 cigarettes

Never will and never ever play.
Firstly, fantasy is not my thing. Don\'t get me wrong ,Dragons, wizards casting spells ,D&D look cool but doesn\'t turn my crank. A good power armor, tanks, guns, BFGs, that\'s what I can sink my teeth into.
Secondly, because you have to pay to play, and pay even if you don\'t play. Knowing that I\'m paying every month, I would probably end up playing and not building.
That is why I\'ve been playing Battlefield 2142 for over 2 1/2 years. You pay once and play. If you are waiting for something to dry, you can play a round or 2 and go back to painting. I caught myself playing Fallout 2 a little too much and and forced myself to limit my time on the computer.
Well to each his own.......Dragomir

Played WoW for a while and never understood it\'s popularity. Definitely no crack in there for me. Never got addicted, never affected my personal or work life. Got bored of it pretty quickly, around level 25 or so.

There are games I enjoy playing much more.

Don\'t mind the MMO pricing scheme though. I would rather pay $10 a month for a game that keeps improving and being added to then pay $60 for a game I beat in 2 sittings. I\'ve found I spend about 80% less on video games now that I play subscription games.

Lets see:...
Stil in front of Computer screen 10 hours a day at work, then got home and spend what little time I have in front of a computer screen.........Hmmmmmmmmmmmn.

That\'d be, NO then.

When I finally saw it I was dissapointed at the graphics and the PLAYMOBIL style of movement. Its potential to consume young guys, (who as all us old farts will tell you ), is frightening ! :|~
Any hint of an addictive personality and you will end up totally screwed !
Any game that you cant save and walk away from the moment REAL LIFE calls, is bad news in my book.

GOD bless ...................V

I was raiding on my warlock back in Dec/Jan and loved it (80 Undead Warlock, Lightninghoof server). I had to stop because it was interfering with school. Haven\'t played since January. I miss killing lots of gnomes, but I\'m glad I haven\'t had any huge urge to play again now that it\'s summer. I\'ve got far too much painting to do!

I used to play a draenei shaman. I was in a progression oriented raiding guild, and I will freely admit, I really enjoyed the game. Then I got a job and took some time off the game to focus on the job. When I got sacked I went back to the game and didn\'t feel the same way anymore. I leveled to 80 with wrath of the lich king, and even raided a few times, but the magic, the spark that kept me interested had gone.

I tried a couple of other mmo\'s, eve with my mates, and war on my lonesome. None of them have appealed enough to justify a purchase.

I think spending my free time painting toy soldiers is a far more appealing hobby. matter of fact, I think I\'ll go do some now.

Do enjoy the game though, there\'s some great stuff in there. I\'ll remember my time in wow fondly.

Just cancelled my acct 3 weeks ago. Played a paladin to 80 and a handful of other toons up to the 70s over the past 4 1/4 years. Very disappointed with WOTLK.

Not to mention your soul. I\'m only 70% kidding.

And to the OP: the thread title is a sad thing to read because you are effectively exchanging a creative activity with a non-creative (simulative) one that literally has no benefit to you or anyone else, other than mindless entertainment value. There is nothing wrong with mindless entertainment, per se, but be wary of how it affects the rest of your life. As you just said, you are letting painting go and replacing it with WOW. The problem being, in other words, not that you are starting to play WOW but that it has a huge potential to have a majorly detrimental impact on other aspects of your life (e.g. marriage, creativity, etc).

Might as well say \"Goodbye painting....hello METH!\"

The fun part, and the time suck, doesn\'t really start until you hit max level and can start raiding.

I deleted 3 level 70 toons each with 3 full sets of Tier 6 gear shortly before WotLK arrived. (Pally / Shaman / Druid - I liked me hybrids but loved to heal!!) Thats like 3+ years of my life I can never get back.

At least you rolled Horde!

Cheers
