Hey Eric I think that it takes guts to back up from your initial reaction like you did.
Agreed. Standing up for himself without being rude to begin with and then being man enough to apologise for an overreaction - definitely a keeper methinks :)

Eric, If you are having problems lining, may I suggest my own little cheat: get a black pigment pen. It is much more forgiving than a brush for this particular task and would clean up the lines a great deal. From there, a little highlightings and picking out a few details and you are well on you way.

I\'m 44 now and I have learned alot about painting over the years. One of the most important things to know is how to seperate the knowlege of a criticsm from the emotion of it. Sometimes it will hurt..........dont throw out the baby with the bathwater. Keep the knowlege and let the bitter taste of the bad feelings pass. Hurt can cause me to reject good information. I clearly remember a fellow about 20 years ago critiquing my work in a rather sneering tone, like I was below him. Hurt and angered me. His suggestion about what my art lacked was true though. It was a real epihany to realise there was something good under the bad.

Hang in there, there are MANY nice people here and you can learn ALOT. Simply having the courage to put your work up for viewing/critique is a huge step that will almost always help you improve.

Better and better...

Hi Eric of Xenia,

Just keep at it. Your painting has many positive aspects about it. Also as you said, you only spend around 40mins max on a mini.

All great things take time.

You\'re only 16 years of age. So you have plenty of great fun painting mini years ahead of you. Enjoy it I say. Don\'t take it too seriously (a mild obsession is okay) and know that you will improve.

That\'s one thing I love about mini painting. You will get better and you have the satisfaction of seeing the progress you\'ve made right before your eyes.

Happy painting days to you.

Paint on and walk the walk.
