Got patience?

I have found of late that even if I have been working a mini for a long time, I will tend to lose patience with it and just \"finish\" it. Bang out details without really working them or blending quite right. What do you guys to to combat this?
(Or are you just naturally patient?)

That\'s the reason I hardly EVER do squads
I\'ve still got my scouts to finish! lol

I tend to have a few models lying around so that if I start getting bored, I just put that one aside and work on something else.

Mind you, sometimes it\'s AGES before I go back and actually FINISH something properly... lol

Thats why I\'ve got 10 to 30 pieces in wip stage at any given point -

and still never get anything finished -

And this is the reason all the feet on my minis look like they were dione by a 2 year old with finger paint.

And why I have started enough Golden Demon entries to enter each category five times over, but never finished a single one. The next idea\'s always more exciting than the one you are working on, so the patience instantly wears thin.

Being patient and completing a mini properly is one of the hardest things to learn. (As War griffon can testify , I wish I could find someone to teach me).

I have to set specific targets to get completed in order to get a mini to the stage when I\'m satisfied that it\'s at a competiton level, what I\'ve started to do is aim to get the mini done by X stage in order to get the base completed and that is the bit that I find the hardest.
If I\'m not spending as much time on the base as the model then I\'m feeling that the figure doesn\'t \"Feel \" right.

Patience, as such, hasn\'t really been a problem for me. If a mini isn\'t going quite right, though, or if I don\'t feel inspired, I\'ll pretty much just stop and never attempt it again.

If a mini is going right, it\'ll take me about a month to finish it, with touching up and everything to try and make it perfect. This went too far on my YB entry last year and the paint got very thick in places - now I\'ll decide not to touch something at all once it\'s finished well.

An exception to my general painting strategy is Enigma Miniatures\' Ahnamoth, which I\'ve been painting on and off for nearly a year

Hm, I would say I have enough patience. I can spend hours, days and weeks on a mini, if it really catches me. But where I have really big problems with is starting an old \"wip\" mini again. I have a \"Andrea\" 54mm miniature on my desk that I have to stop painting, cause I had to do some other minis for the GD project. Now I want to start again with it but I can\'t get my a$$ up...

I have a ridiculous number of unfinished stuff. Usually its all stuff for my army, or personal \'wouldn\'t this be neat\' projects. Stuff I paint for my boyfriend or his friends usually gets done. On the other hand, since the reason I get to paint those models is that the boys in our local gaming community are players, not painters, these models don\'t get the same level of detail or nit-picky attention that my own models get. I find my usual reason for putting down a model is that I get frustrated at some point and I just don\'t want to go back to it. Another thing is that I find painting space marine backpacks incredibly boring, so I finish the whole guy except that part. Next time maybe I\'ll try painting the backpack first...

I have a real problem with it, I dont think I have ever finished a squad in all the time I have been painting, single models yeah but even then its rare

my patinence is OK. but not the best. I have a very hard time painting squads and so on... I have a half finnished seer council, an unpainted blackorc unit... and I think... maby between five and ten WIP\'s in a small box... though I thought of serveral nice ideas of entries to some painting competitions in SWE

Edit: but on the other hand.. I work quite quick, so I haven\'t always got the time to be unpatient xD
