Hi,

Just wondering if there is anyone else going to Gothcon in Göteborg Sweden 6 to 8 of April. Not really anything to do with paiting but guess there might be some painter going there in any case for the Warhammer battles or other stuff.

If you are going perhaps some of us can meet and take some time to paint togheter and share techniques and so.

It does actually have something to do with painting. There is a painting competition each year that has been lacking of entries so every painter coming this year bring a model you wont play with and enter it in the competition. Best mini will win a very limited mini.

I don't read swedish (or speak or write it for that matter) but it looks like the link in the first post has a flyer for the event with dates, location and possibly point of contact information?

Hi Skel,

I can see a link under warhammer that says målning/painting but there is no information there yet. Perhaps it just how they will judge the painted army? wouldn´t have too high hopes for a painting competition but would be nice thou.

but properbly aimed at armypainters, but might be something to look into anyway... I am going there for other stuff, like boardgames and well one or two or more beers in a nice pub.
Will bring some painting stuff to be able to do some painting there if there is someone else wanting too.

is there any info anywhere of this competition?

Wow that sounds really cool! They do cons for everything now it seems =)
I agree that it would be cool if there was a painting competition of some type there. There are so many steam punk miniatures that would be perfect for such an event.

Skel, there is info in the actual folder that got sent out but somehow we missed to get that on the website.

You can enter in 2 categories, single min och group (maximum of 10 figs) There will be a first and second place prices in both categories. I don't think you should come solely for the painting competition since that is something we are trying to make interesting again but we are not there yet. However there is a reason the convention is on it's 36th year so I doubt you will regret making the trip if you want to play some games.

Kretcher, if you are coming anyway please bring a mini or a squad to enter. Last year was pathetic with zero entries so it might be an easy win ;-)

When you talk group or singel mini, is there a must for it to be a warhammer figure or is it more "open" competition? And well perhaps I can bring something not a too good paitner yet, but since I am coming anyways. There will be atleast one entry this year.

It does absolutey not have to be a GW figure. The link you found was for the 40k tournamant and I guess they have their own painting competition. This is for the official Gothcon one were the figures will stand on display for the convention, so don't enter something you need to play with.
