Gothic Horror - Vampire Wars

Is anyone playing this? I\'m still painting up stuff for it frankly (lotta distractions these days).
I have all the books and a great deal of the figgies and the premises and models are all real cool but I\'m having a devil of a time finding content on the web from players so I thought I\'d check here and see if anybody knew anything.

I always thought it was a bunch of figs for other systems, like if you needed a bunch of villagers for D&D or whatever...

I suppose they\'d be great for V:TM players, that is, if you could find one that admits resorting to minis in their games. (Not likely, since they all are a grim bunch, who think that dressing in black head to toe and using black lipstick is cool, but not so using little pewter toys as markers).

Oh I\'m afraid it\'s much cooler than that! IMHO

It\'s a miniature skirmish game prolly along the lines of Mordheim - ok maybe not.
At any rate they take classic horror movie confrontations and have made a game of it: Dracula vs. Van Helsing, Frankenstein vs the Mob and whoever else, Sherlock Holmes vs Jack the Ripper, Witchunters vs. you guessed it - WITCHES!
Mostly tongue in cheek stuff - they dont take the horror so seriously. They have a cool range of Mummy\'s vs Archeologist/hero types too with cults and arab mystics and all that.
Also a Nurse and her staff against Zombies in the Carribean.

It\'s more along the lines of B movie horror than any slick Crow type faux Goth stuff.

The rules are scrappily written though - lots of errors and confusing things but I think a decent game can be culled from them.

THe game has a realy great written background, also I\'m realy unsure about the rules. I played it once and it ended in an desaster, mainly because of the initiative system. Also there are lots of rules missing. You can purchase items and there are no rules how to use them. The minis are great though.
There is a yahoogroup for this game called \"gothic horror\" or so. Can\'t remember the name at the moment. If you don\'t find it send me a message and I will have a look.

Vampire Wars

I\'ve not played vampire wars, but I\'ve browsed through the rules and it looks fun.

I mostly pick up and paint up figures for a cthulhu game we play, since it\'s about the right time frame, and they are the same size as the cthulhu miniatures.
