Great job Graishak! Glad you are not always doing disgustingly good nurgly stuff, but some prettier things too :)

I agree with Jocelyn, the eyes could do with some practice - but I can't help you other than pointing that out. I don't think my eye-painting skills are good enough.
I can however also recommend the use of some kind of magnifiers. I have a pair of head mounted ones, and without these I would not be able to do anything at all.

Nice work on your latest project Graishak. Yeah those cross-eyes... I would recommend painting in white and moving the right eye just a little to the center instead of the corner to get rid of that.

Hi all,

many thanks for the feedback. Point taken regarding the eyes. I'm going to practice - I promise :-D
@Joce: Do you have any recommendation for a "magnifying lamp". It sounds like a thing I'm going to consider buying.

My birthday present arrived and I detected it has a 10 cm roundbase. Therefore I converted one of the riders remaining of my bloab monster (nurgle)
and made it with that to another nurgle demon :)

So that monstrous worm is now my next focus area.

Donegan Optivisor is good (headband style so you don't need to buy another light), just make sure you get the ones with the glass magnifying lenses. But if you want to go cheaper, there are a bunch of cheaper ones with plastic magnifier lenses that you can wear.

There are various optical visors online. The no brand one I bought has three lenses and a crappy light and it has been really helpful over the past five plus years. When I am painting terrain (or crappy Reaper Bones minis),I find myself using cheap reading glasses from the store. 3x magnification I believe.

So what is the best factor of magnification? I saw Donegan Optivisors with 2, 3, 6 and 7 as an option.
I'm willing to invest the 50 EUR, but would like to make sure, that I'm able to use it properly, once painting details.
It sounds like 2-3 are most appropiate?
Amusing... on ebay the import of an US seller is more cheap than getting it on German Amazon LOLZ

FWIW, for detail work I use a head-mounted magnifier pretty much only with the 3.5x magnifiers (the others are gathering dust in the drawer).
For general work though, I just use some magnifying glasses, I don't know their strength but they allow me to focus much better when holding stuff near my face.

I think I got the ones with the 5 lenses so it is 2.5 times magnification at focal length of 8 inches, but then again, my reading vision is shot so everything looks like a grey blob unless I use a magnifier of some sorts. So if you vision is better or corrected better with glasses, I would say the 4's should be fine for you. Make sure to practice with them first as they do throw some people off to begin with. If you want to try a cheaper option first, you could pick up something like these: https://www.amazon.com/Headband-Mag...ords=Magnifying+Glasses&qid=1620696259&sr=8-7
They come with several different magnifiers so you can figure out which works best for you. I had a pair like that but hated them because the nose piece would give me headaches from the weight of the glasses pressing down. Like it was mentioned you could also pick up a cheap pair of 2.00 or 2.50 reading glasses and see if those work for you and would likely be under 20 euro.

Thanks for the useful hints. The magnifiers have arrived.
I decided for a model with changeable lenses, so I can
choose now between 1,5 - 3 magnification. The next eyes
will come…

I was unimpressed with this model.....until you put some paint on it. Very cool. The head shading and highlights against the grungy teeth really look nice.

Thanks guys. You know... some times priority changes happen to a painter (really? never (!) ;-) ).
So I started with my deadwalkers and had a match with my Goblins few days after... detecting, that my fourth unit of spider riders
is sitting unfinished on shelf. So unlucky for the Zombies I decided to go for my spiders instead.
2 of them are now done - see picture below. Did some conversation work on the weapons to keep them unique in comparison to the
other units. So vibrant zebra spiders are on their way.... 5 more to go.

Which color-scheme you like most? My family is preferring the red's.

That worm is a thing of beauty mate! Extremely well done... I like how you showed the progression of the worm and then bam, rider completely expertly painted and fully mounted!!!

Love the idea with the spiders! I am still trying to get my first unit off the ground and into the trees!
