I got the Intuos for my birthday, an 8x6 I love it It does take a bit to get used to but worth the curve.
I am really starting to use it for art class and can even put a piece of paper over the top when drawing that helps it feel the same a bit more, mine came with the coral bundle and digital classes.
I am glad I have a larger desk the room is needed for me, it takes a bit to orient yourself to what feels like drawing in a mirror, not sure if that makes sense but that is what I feel like.
I am more used to it now and like every one says it is a good thing with Photoshop the coral painter is better for other things so it matters what you want to get out of it.
It works well with scanned images also I draw the scan then play , good fun!
If I had cash to burn I would opt for the new one that you draw directly on the screen but, I do not
