great resource for all artists

Hey all,

Some of you know that I have started back at school for a BFA. In my drawing class we were doing gestures this week. My teacher informed our class of a great site that I think would be great for all types of artists. It\'s called posemaniacs.com

They even have an application for iPhone. If you need to draw or sculpt a particular pose but don\'t have a model or picture handy this is a good resource!

You\'re all very welcome. I couldn\'t let such a great resource go by unknown to many of us. I see it as being helpful to people who are interested in sculpting, drawing, painting, etc. It\'s a very useful site.

That is such a cool website. It\'s great that you get a full 360 of each pose as well..... fantastic. A must for any sculpter/ artist etc and also great for anyone wanting to convert a mini to a new pose and get it to look natural and \'right\'

You are very welcome! If I come across other \"cool\" sites like this one then I will gladly share it!

On a side note, no one in my art classes had any idea about the world of miniatures. I brought some of my competition pieces in and other really good pieces and they were floored! I\'d really like to bring miniatures into the art world.

I know there is that debate about whether or not minis are art or craft. I think when it boils right down to it it can be both.

Art is usually for display purposes. Something pretty to look at. And you have those kinds of pieces in miniatures. You still have to pay attention to composition, color theory, and craftsmanship (getting rid of mold lines and fixing defects).

You also have minis that are meant to be played with and that would fall under craft I think.

Anyway we can start a new thread for that if need be! But just thought I\'d interject.

Ok, that was one of the most useful sites I\'ve seen in ages! Thanks for sharing, Meg! :beer:

I will have plenty of use for it when I\'ll try my hand at some sculpting in a (hopefully) not too distant future.
