GreenOne\'s freak introductory mini (Improved pics!)

I paint my thumb.
Hi y\'all
Timing couldn\'t be better, for my 1000th post I got a new submission, here\'s my freebooter succubus. First time I paint large skin areas, and my first non GW mini since my beginnings on random WOTC minis.

*Edit: Pics have been improved to decent standard.*

Nothing to compare with the excellent work that\'s been posted lately, but not bad for the lousy (And rusty) painter that I am. Feedback will be greatly appreciated.

The wings and skin look nice (and I think would look fantastic with a lil Dullcote), but I\'m not sure about the yellow claws. They look too yellow and a bit cartoony to me, but if you say that the camera has made everything more yellow, then maybe that\'s why. I can sympathise, my old camera loved everything to be blue. I like blue, but not that much.

Thank you all for the feedback.
Yeah the photo really suck, I was too tired yesterday evening to realize just how much they sucked. Mick22 version is a bit better, but still not like the real thing. (Apparently GIMP doe\'s a better job at autolevelling than PS)
It\'s not the camera, it\'s the lighting and installations, yellow bulb in a white solid box, I\'ll figure something out.
Dunno where the glossyness came from, my varnish used to be matt.. maybe it\'s all out of mattness or the can wasn\'t shaken enough.

And, yeah, claw are bone colored, this gives an idea... I think I\'ll take her off and repost when I get better pics, I was in too much of a hurry.
Edit: Removed her from the voting page, It was still in waiting stage so nobody noticed ;)

I\'d post the pic for votes anyway. It might give you a good benchmark for whatg to shoot for? I like it anyway, glad you\'re back in the hobby!

Wow! Ok, then I look forward to seeing a less jaundiced version!

@Scott: Thanks but nah... I would die to see her score at 4.8 :p

Good news, I\'ve been able to re-mattize my varnish by shaking it like a madman, and tested with a different improvised setup and the results are much better.
So I\'ll be shooting her again as soon as I finished my coffee :D

Edit: Done, I think we can all agree this is a lot better...

Thanks supervike, this was not easy for me :)

Votey link is active again, so I thought I\'d bump this up :innocent:

Thanks, the skin was my main objective here, so glad to know I did this right :)

Sitting at 6.3 now, which I guess is good given the really high standards on the site, but I get no real criticism, if someone could give me points on what should be improved that would be great...
Not quite satisfied with the sword myself, especially on the fromt shot, anything else ?

Okay, good effort and the pics are MUCH better....

-Sword does look a little mono-tone. My metals suck-diddly-uck so I have nothing to offer you there.

-The hooves melt into the base, and the highlighting looks a little rough. Maybe a darker color to seperate the color both fom the flesh of the model and the base?

-As I commented the shading on the wings is good, but I would have rather seen the wings as a whole one consistent color with the shading in the folds as opposed to the top to bottom effect.

Skin is tops, which was the goal! Well done. 6+ is a good score from this site.... At least that\'s what I tell myself anyway!
