Now that I\'m back into painting, I\'m in a sharing mood
Okay, this is the succubus from freebooter, a very fun mini to work on. It\'s a gift from my sister and my first attempt a very large skin area.
After quite a bit of trial, errors and experimentations here\'s where I\'m at, mostly done with the skin, the rest I just picked up to see where I\'m going with the colors and make my separations.
Looks a bit messy, my usual \'style\'; hopefully I will sort that out later in the process.

Looking forward for any C&C and usuful tips you people can give me.

looking pretty smooth! As the skintone is so dark I suggest using even lighter tones of the bone colour bikini . And then perhaps making a very dark colour to outline it. The purple is a bit to anynomous.

Thanks Avelorn, thats good to hear.
I think I\'ll give the bikini very sharp highlights, turning it to more pink/orange tones to give it a kinda glossy/latex texture, not sure yet.

the skin looks plain currently, there are a few shadows and such but the colour is really missing and the skin shadows around the edges of stuff look a bit harsh as well

the highlights need to be brighter in places as well to increase your available range in value

and i suggets adjustign the hue of the red on her leg where the spikes come out, its too bright and happy which fo blood, or eve rashes, it doesnt work that well

not really sure what the plan is for the black on the sword or why it was there...but if you are using black as a liner, or even to darken your colours...its not always the best choice as its harder to control

Thanks, I think I lost some definition in the glazing process, I\'ll work on the highlight a bit more.
The red is not blood but rashes/sore marks, I\'ll adjust it as I do the boney things.
The blade will be metallics and I\'ll basecoat it black like I usually do with metals

A little update, did the boney things on the legs, the hooves and some more work on the skin on the legs.

is it me or are the 2nd pictures dark

I like the mini, the skin seems very dark to me maybe that was the look you are going for, With the dark shades of skin I don\'t know if purple trim is the best option, I would have personally went with a brighter color such as a orange or pink to give some action

Slowly moving forward with this one, I took your advices and changed the color of the bikini, glad I did too it really stands out better I think. Couple more bone things and some more highlight on the skin, namely the boobs and tummy. not sure the glove will work tough, but because of assembly issues I got to do something like that...

Well I tried, but it starting to look overworked, I\'m afraid I will spoil it if I keep on. Gotta know my limits.

Almost there, really struggled with the face, she almost went to take a dip but I decided to move on, I think shes safe now.
Weapon looks better IRL it turned a bit weird on the pics, I\'ll have to work on it a bit more I guess

I\'m wondering what colors I should use for the wings, as well as what to do with the base, maybe some snow or just paint the rocks over earth surface... Feel free to give suggestions

Another small update, fixed the blade a bit, there is still an odd bronze glint on the front pic, but I don\'t think it\'s due to the painting. Also did the rocky base on black earthy background, worked well on other\'s version.

Unless I find something very wrong with her, I think the only thing left is the wings
After all is done, I think it will be my best work so far.

Why not do the wings in the same colors as the flesh? Or are they feathery type wings? So far so good. I personally could go for a little more higlighting on the weapon grip. Nice eyes on the model as well.

Yeah, maybe that, maybe something that looks more like the bikini color, tough darker... maybe a degrade between the two... not sure yet.

You\'re right about the grips, looks a bit flat...

Here are the wings thus far.
Decided to try something different for the color; some more highlights will be done towards the bottom (brightest) and I\'ll prolly redo some of the shading, but I guess you can see the general idea

I like the color choice and it does use some of the same tone from the flesh (Right?) so I think it\'ll tie into the model wonderfully.
