I think it was time I get around to it. Think I somewhat found my cruising speed for painting, so I picked up the sculpting tool, just to make sure I keep struggling

Anyway, I am into converting barded horses into undead horses, for the most I just mingled them with my dremel and applied GS to make scars and stuff, I\'ll show them later into painting. But I went for something more expansive for the champ and standard:

The ragged one is the standard and the mailed one is the champ. I am pretty much learning about GS as I go, so it\'s not easy. Pieces that are messed up will be fixed with more GS. They\'ll have more stuff on the back once I glued the pieces together.

Also progressed a bit on the dwarf buddy, and hopefully got better pics:

And progressed a bit on the hippogrif.

Tail piece is done and it\'s fixed to the base:

The griffin is turning out great.
The chainmail on the horse looks a bit strange though, it could use a bit more texture.

I agree about the chainmail, but everything else looks ace! The Griffin looks very atmospheric; I like the wings. The GS tattered rags work very nicely on the other horse, too. Also the dwarf is cool, I like the metals

im really digging those hippogriff wings, i think its turning out great.


perhaps if you just added thin sheets of gs to the horse, then textured it chainmail style after it cured it might be easier to work with. in fact, you could just try it out over your previous work. im just guessing here, and free-hanging chainmail seems tough...

Yeah, thanks guys, enjoying the process greatly, exept when gs sticks under my nails, on my clothes, on my food...
I agree about the chainmail, In fact I placedanother sheet of gs and remade the middle part of the chainmail. I think it\'s good now.
The wings have been a lot of work, I still have tonight\'s session to spend on them; I miss drybrushing, was so easy
But I guess quality comes at a price.

Hi again y\'all, here is today\'s update on my work.

Firstly, I started a thread not long ago about swamp bases, actually got around to start them, so here they are now:

First part is done, I will make the decorations over the next few days, reeds, cattails, lots of bladegrass, bits of wood, taught about doing one or two torches with eerie blue fire but I am not sure yet. Maybe a few body parts in the water, but nothing too gross

And I also finished the wings:

I\'ll fix them tomorrow, and expect them not to fit so well, have to reglue them a few time, chip some paint and get gs all around the place... the usual.

Well, fixing the wing was not as problematic as I expected, only chipped paint around the joint, and had to do minimal GS work.
So, here is the completed hippogrif:

With that done, I can now focus on the king, he\'s just getting started:

And more on my mounted skelly unit, here is the part I did not think about; those guys are made to fit on skelly horses, not the barded horses, which are a lot wider. Good thing I just got a dremel... I did two of them yesterday, before I stopped feeling my hand. Here is a pic for reference:

Okay, here is some update, let\'s start with some more tribulations with greenstuff:

Photo is pretty bad I know, I\'ll try to do better on next update, tough I think I might only get good pics when they\'re primed.

And the second update on the king:

I did most of the metallics on him, besides a few touchups that will come later.

Hi again y\'all.

Apparently that last mini ended up being quite unpopular... sooo, let\'s move on

Now that I\'m not late on anything, it seems like a good time to work on my own stuff, so that I can get late again!
The slayer king will be my main focus for a while, hopefully the next one I\'ll have completed. It\'s been started long ago and I feel if I improve anymore I\'ll have to start redoing earlier areas, and he\'ll never get finished...
Anyway, did the most of the cloak, as usual I may return on it to work on some hotspots later in the process, but for now I like it:

Also continued working on the GS horses, the third one, musician, is coming along but there is less to show. I\'ll have one more session on filling and filing and sandind, and I might get to paint them in a few days...

And also progressed a bit on the swamp bases, the main bitz are placed and halfly painted, I\'ll be adding a load of grass soon:

Well, thanks people, happy to keep you interested.

The scales are actually a bit shinier, but I cant
get the pics righ yet ( I have a hinge that the white balance confuse it a bit...).

Anyway, I sure am keeping busy, lucky enough to have very little things to interfere with my painting ( Like work, sex, social life, etc...) lol

Here is some of what will be keeping me busy for the next weeks, not much much to see, but just to let you know:

The converted horses are now ready for painting and also an extra 8 brit horses for a future errant unit.

The slayer king has progressed, and I got more angles, and I think better shots, but I obviously dont have the most certain taste for pics:

Did the hair, and a bit more work on the cloak. I\'ll do the axe tonight and build the multipart banner over the next few days, he\'ll be on a 4x6cm display base... still quite a bit orf work to do here

ANYWAYS. I\'m not to sure what to say about the converted horses. The one in rags looks like it could be really nice with a good paintjob, but the one with the chainmail looks a little off. I know how hard it can be to convert these horses (I\'ve triend unsuccessfully myself a few times...). Once you get some paint on them I\'m sure they\'ll start looking better.

It\'s pretty much hit and miss on those horses. A lot of improvisation and learning also.
I\'ll do my best on the paintjob and see how it goes.

Hi again Y\'all.

Only one subject to update today, the body of the slayer king is complete now, I\'ll have to wait a few days for the banner to be ready ( Curing times...).
Every time I say I think I got better pics, at least one of them turns out to be crap, so I will refrain on commenting the pics...

It still anything but flawless, but I\'m happy with it so far. Shiny stuff like the scales and metals are a bit better IRL, but you have to take my word for it^^

Been taking it easy these last few days, so there is not that much new to show.
