Hi y\'all!
I don\'t update so often lately, for cause there is not that much to be shown.
However I did manage some progress tough I am very unsteady as of late.
Firstly, for those following the story, I have finished beating the wights into fitting the horses, literally painful process, next time i try this I\'ll plan ahead and get me some proper sets of legs :duh: Surprisingly enough, my rotative tool survived the process, not bad for a 40$ piece of mimicry.

Main thing in the showase today, the swamp bases are completed:

The blade grass thing didn\'t quite go as planned, and would have taken forever, so I relied on my usual types of greenery. Of course these behing gaming bases, there is some limit to the omount of stuff I could put in, but I think these are my best, and most elaborate bases yet.

I\'ve put the slayer king aside for a while and focused on unit painting, some progress on the undead horses:

Thats a pretty worthless pic I know...
Some closeups:

Of course the big cork overhead doesn\'t help the pics, but as you can see, I did the weathered armor on all 8\'s. I\'m happy to have found a way to do this in a reasonnable amount of time for a result that suits me as far as unit painting goes.

I\'ll try to get back up to a good pace by setting myself weekly objectives, so if all goes well, I will update on the complete skin/gore on them, and the banner for the slayer king before next tuesday^^

Hi Y\'all!
I\'m swimming in too many things right now, and I need to feel some real progress, so I decided to focus on the mounted wights and at least finish the horses. The 5 non-command one are done:

Yeah, it\'s pretty uninteresting, horses, but it\'s what I got to do for now. At least they got gore and weathered armor ;)

As a side, I finished prepping the riders and I might get some paints on them soon and I am also prepping and basing a unit of errant knights. Slayer king is on hold until those horses are done.

The bases look good and I really like the rust effect on the barding think you pulled off making it dark and still bright in some way at the same time - if that makes any sence.
I do however think that some of the horses are a little to light, especiallt their tails, do you think that will work for an undead badass - I think I would hit it with some dark wash or the like.

I am quite happy with some parts of the weathering, but honnestly it\'s quite irregular, some parts are a bit odd. I\'ll push in this direction next time I try it on a single figure.

You might have a point for the tails, but the wights bones and fabrics will be in lighter shades ( As opossed to the usual rendering) so I\'ll wait before deciding on that, it may help balance the horses in the end.

i really like the rotten flesh bits on the horse. the tails could use some more dynamic shading though (i think ive given you that comment before...tisk, tisk) lol

i cant wait to see the group, they\'ll be quite impressive.

I think you only commented on highlighting the hairs, tbh i dont know exactly what you mean by dynamic shading :p ( I think I see what you mean tough.)
The tails were done pretty fast in fact, skipping around a bit maybe, I am very far from schedule again.

Time for another update.
I finished painting the horses for my wight unit:

I can now draw conclusion on my first try at conversion; mostly, it requires a lot more planning and finition than this, I could only just manage to paint them so its okay. But the learning is all worthwhile. Ill practice on that on a smaller scale in the future.

I will begin work on the riders shortly, but first I got to complete the slayer king, already did some work on the banner:

I got to finish the banners, with a bit of freehanding ( gonna be tough.) and touchup the metals. Then I paint the display base and it should be done in a few days.

Hi Y\'all
Last update for the Slayer king, banner is all done now:

As you can surely tell, freehand is still very tough for me, especially regular patterns. I\'ll have to practice on that stuff until it seems easy for me. Only the display base is left now, should be fairly easy after the tough last sessions, dirt, rock and snow.
It should appear in the submission forums soon :D
