GreenOne's WIP - Now bigger and... Smellier ?

Hi Y'all
Here's a new and exciting project, another one from hasslefree, which is interestingly quite large. Not much is done obviously but wanted to share anyway.

The plan is to represent him in a 'natural' wildlife documentary fashion, not too warlike of menacing; just your ordinary fish-eating troll, which would probably rip your head off if he crossed you but otherwise keeps to himself.

Base building is also underway, something a bit more elaborate, a little woodland scene, which for a first time will feature water. Tree is not finished of course, but I thing my sculpting is coming along....

Nice one, I've not seen that Troll before. I did start filling a basket at Hasslefree once & had to stop because I wasn't omitting any minis :D The new Maw babies are very tempting too!

Good luck with the water, how far up the tree/rock will it be coming?

Cheers, B.

Another subscribed thread for me than :) Nice start Green, and as obviously - love the work you did so far on base, because I have a hard time to force myself sculpt bases and have a fun with that. So ... admire your work :) Keep going mate.

Thanks peep.
I always tried to get the most out of my bases, I am a base enthusiast ( Not as much as, say, Jarhead, but still.); from the time when my painting was crap, I felt a good base could redeem it, lol.
Seriously tough, it's a great model, fun shapes, and all skin work, and we all know I love to paint skin :D
Just the troll penis that's somewhat awkward but I can stomach it.

@BPI: Water will go up to just under the short root that's between the two longer ones. I plan on using E_Z Water, from woodland; I hope it's a good product cause it sure cost a bundle.

For those interested in knowing, the green stuff on the base is plant grade green foam, cut in slices and drenched in white glue. Press hard and it gives both shape and texture. I'm quite happy with this find and I'll surely use this more in the future.

Thanks for the information about the plant foam, GreenOne. That definitely will be useful when I want to make a fancy base. :) The troll looks great!

Cheers!

Granddad!
looking good so far GO, be careful with the EZ water if it's the one you have to heat up, it can melt some of your ground work, do a test piece first
