greenstuff compared to bluestuff

I visited my local rogue trader store looking for some putty. I thought they would have greenstuff, but it turned out to be a blue-white mix. Why\'d they change? Or did they always have bluestuff? And what\'s the difference between the two? It\'s not such a big deal if the quality\'s the same, but with GW, well....it\'s hard to trust \'em. I\'m 14, and broke, so I don\'t wanna waste my money....:D
Thanks for any help.

Supposedly, Blue Stuff is for more detailed work like faces, but I\'ve yet to try the stuff I won. There\'s still some places where you can get GS, though.. And in better quantity! I think the Blue Stuff is $9 for a small ribbon and I got a 36\" \"spool\" for $11 somewhere online. I\'m not into the \"freshness\" of it, so I keep it in a semi airtight box just to make sure it doesn\'t melt in the heat.

Greenstuff

Hi Nelson!

Depends where you live. If you are in the UK try heresy miniatures. They sell fresh stuff, much cheaper than GW. They will probably export, but it is likely that a local source would be cheaper.

Don\'t feel too bad about being 14 and broke. Things will get worse!!!:bouncy:

PSI industriesSells 36\" of Kneadite (greenstuff) online for 12.50 + S&H That\'s more than 4 times as much for less than the price of two packs of GWs ;) For long term storage keep you epoxy putty in the fridge:idea:

or even more long term storgae, put it in the freezer - but you have to plan when you\'re gonna use it so you can let it thaw out!!

also, i havent heard of this bluestuff - are gw stores in the uk gonna start selling it?

i don\'t really know about GW\'s plans for the uk. The\'ve had this bluestuff-whitestuff for a while now so I guess if it\'s not in stores there yet, the uk won\'t get it. I checked out PSI, and i think i\'ll buy the greenstuff. Thanks!

In Canada at least, they went with the bluestuff/whitestuff for a while, but then the manufacturer stopped making it, and they\'re back to Greenstuff. I hated the bluestuff, I always got hard crusty blue bits in it.

Having tried the two side by side, I much prefer Green, and I am glad it\'s back.

Yeah, 10 years later you\'ll be like me: 24 years, WITH a job, but still broke from a lead -and by then complete plastic- overdose

greenstuff in the freezer

Just wanted to make the quick comment (quick, cos my cat is sleeping on my arm so this is 1 handed typing) that gs from the freezer actually thaws superfast, it gets perfectly workable straightaway while you\'re mixing it. and yeah, it stays much more \'squishy\' and fresh than gs in air, which gets quite stiff.

To avoid that, don\'t use the center of the strip where the blue and the white components touch. When I use it, I cut off equal amounts of the blue and white parts, leaving a very narrow blue/white strip in the middle. The middle stuff has started to cure from contact w/each other, and that\'s where the crusty stuff is coming from.
