Hi, I have been painting for a few years now and paint decent enough to turn out a 40k army but I just can't spend enough time on one miniature to truly make it good. You know the level, good locally but nothing compared to the Internet.

I hope to get better and so I joined the community for honest critique of my work. (Locally all I can get is variations on 'that looks good' and I can't get better with that.)

Any non painting advise on how I should go about this?

I am painting a reaper mini as best as I can to serve as a starting point, but until I get done with it, here are a couple of examples of my work.

Looks like you know how to dillute your paints and how to paint nice transitions. And also looks like you go for a hefty comic style with heavy blacklining/darklining. Try to get this cleaner. Your miniatures look good and all the detail is there. It is just kind of blurred, probably because of being painted pretty fast. Next thing - basing. Without a proper base the miniature is just not done.

Keep it up!

Thanks,

here is the reaper mini I am working on for my point zero. I can't get it to upload here. May be too big.
