Great model, a 9 from me!

The head is a bit odd though, the neck is too long and the head is too fat. If he was wearing a helmet it would have had to be bigger than normal just for him to fit it on

The overall piece is excellent, i gave it an 8. Its when i start breaking sections down that I come across things that could be improved.

The eyes are alright but need a bit more defination, some more darklining around them, or a brown wash. Just to give them an edge and stop them from blending in to the surrounding skin.

Overall the weathering and rust on the armour looks excellent, but its a tad to monotone for my liking. I would have liked to see some green and purple glazes mixed into the browns, just enough to add a tint of colour.

The blue tubing on the back looks a bit out of place, its just to bright for the overall piece. If you added a purple glaze to the rust, then painted this purple it would be more fitting.

The base is great, but i feel the water is a bit to much of a bright blue and stands out far to much from the rest of the piece.

I really like the little flashes of red that you have given, they help break up the large metalic areas. And give a bit of differentiation.

Hope this helps

I paint my thumb.
Great looking piece indeed, almost gave a 9 but upon reading matty\'s criticizing and ageeing with it, a 8 would seem fair.
So blame matty :moon:

yeah i would chuck the head. its just off it seems to me... proportionally that is. other than that i love it. the front seems to be weathered better than the back though. a 7.6 for me. i\'ll vote it an 8 though.

I like the head. Although it could do with sitting a little lower down in the armour, I think the heroic, fantasy looking head is one of the main things that makes this work for me. It gives it an illustrative, ancient, legendary quality somehow, and without something in that style (the flowing locks and chiseled face) I believe the mini would loose a lot.

The different tones you have got in the armour are nice too, once again adding to the antiquated look.

Perhaps some power cabling worked into the lance to make it look like it is more than just a lance (which wouldn\'t exactly be an effective weapon for a model on foot) would be a good touch.

I like the base, but the water is a little too blue for me, it should be dirtier to suit the mood of the piece better.

In all it\'s some really good work though.

really good, although i feel that the small banner could have some more details on it, althought this is a great mini anyway. 9

Voted and commented :) I really like what you did with this guy - the base is awesome, and your metallics and freehand are very well done. I don\'t much like the tones of the face, but I guess that\'s more personal taste than anything :) I would give the mini and 8, but with the base it makes such a cool scene that it had to be a 9 from me! :) Good job

Agree with Matty.

EDIT: I like the lance... But it seems a little odd for a foot soldier to me. Maybe if you chopped the tip and made it some sort of halberd... But then the grip would be wrong too... Oh nvm - it\'s still cool :p
