hey man looks great i\'m so jealous!

one comment if i may?

the white stripe on his right foot seems a little stark compared to the rest of them up his foot and leg - is this cos its catching more of the light maybe? it looks to me a little too bright.

the rest is beautiful - show us more!

Looks good from what I can see! I have to tip my hat to you however cuz i\'m a bit scared to experiment with NMM at the moment. I think it\'s a mix of both not being sure how to pull it off... and not liking it much (but I think thats jealousy:p).

Thanks for your help guys
@Rev: you\'re right it looks a bit rough, but then again i didnt spend a very long time trying to paint it neatly, i mainly wanted to see if it looked cool or not. I\'m going to paint grey knight teminators and i had this one laying around collecting dust, so i decided to use it as a test mini.

The helmet has been painted. The final highlight came out a bit messy, i painted a white dot where no light is reflected by mistake, and i discovered it once i had uploaded the pic  Help and constructive critisism most welcome.

I\'ve made some more progress. I decided to paint the helmet red instead. The blending is very rough, mostly cause i wanted to finish it as quickly as possible.

Well for a cartonny NMM it looks pretty darn good. Blending needs worj but you seem aware of that. I\'m not a big fan of that type of thing but it looks good to me.

whoops, uhh anyways, it looks more brass than gold to me, you have the really greeny bronws

as mentioned the blends need to be smoothened

other than that its all placement, and your placement seems to be fine

thanks a lot for your answers ;)
@warhammerholic: I only used citadel colours. I Started off with a basecoat of scorched brown, and then gradually added bestial until i reached pure bestial brown. I did the same thing when i went from bestial to snakebite, from snakebite to golden yellow and finally from golden yellow to white. (Although i rushed this mini, this is the way it\'s \"meant\" to be applied.)
@Starks: Hmm interesting point about the bronze effect.. I really thought it looked like gold. ??? Have any suggestions to make it more goldish?

All of your NMM\'s have been done as if there is a huge light in front of the figure, as the thin, light line is always there. You need to consider other sources. Though it shows some skill :)

I paint my thumb.
The shiny stuff is really cool^^
Only thing I can say bout making it more \'goldy\' is that gold is a lot more reflective than
bronze, so it would just need to.. shine more.

But compositionwise, you should have sticked with the golden helmet, imo.

Nooooo no more yellow! It\'s fine tonewise.
Maybe more reflective I thinks the point, I like it as is though. It all depends on the light soulce your going for.

I think the colour is spot on. I never use yellow on gold nmm myself.
I find thin snakebite over a white base is more than bright enough.
In fact even that is sometimes too yellow.

I like the application of the bright points.
The blending could be smoother but super smooth blends are not essential.

I am interested in how you decided on where the major reflections would occur.
I painted a similar effect a while back and I found wetting the mini and holding it under my light source
gave me exactly where and how the reflections should occur.

Great work..... but not keen on the helmet.

Nigel :)
