That steel on his large armour plates look really good! It shows that you\'ve put in a lot of work on them. I also like the gold on the victim\'s helmet. Very nice work on that!

I think it\'s a good start at working with NMM but with a few touches I think this one would have turned out even better. The first is the rivets, particularly on the leg and elbow, don\'t have a blend to darker tones around them, also on the fingers the joints need to be darker as well. Overall you do seem to have your hotspots working right, but the rest of the armor is generally too light. The result is a dull look to the armor, as if the surface is defusing light rather than catching it in spots and reflecting it. It\'s the dark areas that work to really make those hotspots \"bling\". I think the work you put into the chainmail sections turned out great.

A big point to remember with NMM is that it is in essence painting an illusion, so all those little details (such as shading around rivets), if missed, start to break down your illusion until you\'re left with greys instead of metal!

You\'ve shown a ton of potential with the technique here with your skilled blending, and with a few more models under your belt I have no doubt you\'ll perfect it.

thanks for the comment. Now that I look at the model you are absolutely right about the rivets, they need more shading around them. I\'ll keep your advice in mind when painting my next miniature. cheers !

Just an aside...

I\'d just like to point out that this ----^ is one of the most insightful and eloquently phrased tips I\'ve seen on here. :) Cuts right to the point. Well done, Eric!:D

and @Mordred - very nicely painted mini. If you take Eric\'s advice to heart, it could be a spectacular mini. As it is, I\'d give it an 8.5 or so. GOod work!

Voted on that....

....yesterday.I was looking forward to seeing it pop up as I could see the checks in the little pic before I clicked it!(I\'m a sucker for checks) I\'m no master, but a little more shading as Eric says seems to be the only comment I can make ;) I do love the axe too,and the Knights head is a good example of some \'exteme\' highlighting :D Nice one
