Grot - Color test for new Ork army

Here is a shot of a grot that I painted up as a color test for my new Ork army. I am wanting this to be my show army ( I already have CSM, Necrons, and Chaos Daemons.)

I am trying out using glazing. So far it has been going pretty nice. I was happy with everything on the model except for the flesh on his arms and hands. I think I just need a bit more practice. I really like how the face and gun turned out.

The color on the tunic was just right but I needed another layer or two to even it out.

Let me know what you think I need to do to improve.

Thanks!

I like the scheme, not too many colours and black always goes with red, I take it your doing goffs?

I think the painting on his face is good, and wouldn\'t worry too much about the arms, like you said it\'s just a case of practising. The problem with those figures is they don\'t have much muscle definition and therefore your just highlighting flat plastic which can look odd. The new Ork & grots figures are ace and a lot easier to paint.

It is kind of hard to tell from the picture but the tunic is actually a really bright orange. What looks like black on the model is actually leather - I was trying out a new technique.

I can\'t decide on what clan I should do. Right now I am leaning towards a frebbota army that uses orange as its primary color scheme.

I couldn\'t decide whether it was red or orange, my work monitors a bit old haha. I like it and orange is an under used colour IMO, should make your army stand out on the battlefield. I\'d like too see some orange vehicles!
