Hi All! Actually, Scott\'s not on this clip, but a bunch of kids and families we know are. Nascar Angels built a playground at our elementary school yesterday. (Will, our youngest, is a 5th grader there.) It\'s going to be a while before he\'s able to paint, or type, for a while - his hands are killing him!

The custodian that \"won\" the re-vamped van is a wonderful man and constantly teases me when I\'m up at the school because I talk to myself a lot!

On a final note, Will was filmed with Mr. Brown for the Nascar Angels show. If we ever figure out when it\'s going to be on we\'ll let ya\'ll know.

D

P.S. I wasn\'t slacking by not working there yesterday - I\'d already comitted to working the middle school\'s used book sale that day. Oh darn - no cement mixing for me! :D

Nice to see Celebrities being Real for a change.

I know a lot of people (at least here in the US) make fun of NASCAR, but NASCAR and racing people in general are a lot more like real people than most sports celebrities (with the notable exceptions of Indy Racing League and F1 people). They actually go out and interact with their fans, show up for promotional events and the like, and generally are not at all prima donnas.

Thanks for the clip, Dawn. Wish I could get down to ATL for the Golden Demons. Some year. :(

When my oldest was about 6 she broke her arm. We went to an airshow and she saw Patty Wagstaff walking back from her plane. She asked Patty to sign her cast for her. Not only did she sign it, but she got theRed Barons and a few other stunt flyers to sign it as well.

Now Ms. Wagstaff and those guys all rate very high in my book. None of them had to go out of their way for that little girl, but they all did.

What\'s funny is that Rusty Wallace only flew in for filming his part in the t.v. show and then left again. He didn\'t do an ounce of work. They flew him in on a helicopter from the Atlanta Speedway (waaaay down south of us). Our field wasn\'t big enough so they landed at the middle school - right over my other son\'s head! He and some classmates were at their \"Motivation Celebration\" (i.e. party for the geeks - ummm, good students :) ) outside and the helicopter flew right over their heads and landed in the field next to them.

I missed the whole dad-gum thing because I was still working the used book sale inside (even though my shift was officially over and I was supposed to be outside working the party). I was bummed. Never did see any celebrities - too many people on the new playground for me to see much of anyone by the time I got there.

Tony Stewart is the Man! But yeah Nascar drivers tend to be some of the most humbel sports celebs out there. Ive been to events where a driver was supposed to sign autographs for a couple hours, but because the line was so long stayed for hours longer to make sure everyone who came got an autograph and a picture.

As for Rusty, it probably took more than you think to get him there being hes one of the comentary crew for the Bush Race on Saturdays. His window of time was probably very small. It was probably his helicopter, and he was probably flying it himself. hes a pilot and flys himself.

Cool looking park.
