So...I was in Nashville this weekend visiting some friends and I wandered into the Opry Mills GW store. I was looking for some Mordheim stuff for a possible Golden Demon entry...but they didn\'t have any Mordheim at all.

So...I looked around...found the IG Psyker pack for 9 bucks...had a flash of insight as to how I could use one for a Demon entry...but didn\'t need three of them. So I figured I\'d wait and just order one of them from GW when I got home, thinking he\'d be 3 bucks (9.00 for 3 = 3 a piece, right?).

Wrong.

I get online today, and the pack is 12.00 in the online store. No biggie - one by himself should be 4 bucks.

Wrong.

7 bucks a piece.

*sigh*

Launch...into...sun...

I find that individual staff members are fine. It\'s the Controlling Aspect of the company which is the B*llache.

Wouldn\'t mind seeing what their mission statement / Corporate Vision is. :innocent:

Couldn\'t be anything to do with customer care could it.;)

You get the same pricing problems with UK mail order. Though there were a few things that actually worked out cheaper if you ordered them as bits as opposed to complete blisters! IG commissars and Necromunda Spyrers. I did hear that this was pointed out to them by some busy body of a twat, so I doubt they\'re still available at the \'bargain\' prices.

The 10 commandments for retail staff are actually pretty good, but the staff need to work as a team and be aware of eachother as much (if not more than) as the customers. That is why people get daunted whent hey walk into a GW store... they get pounced upon by 20 staff members one after the other!

Oh, that and most of the other customers are a pain in the arse...

But TGD is true... they even have a strategic team called that...

I reckon they\'d make as much cash selling toiletries and deodourant to the vast majority of their customers

You\'d have to be a very good salesman to actually get them to use it though!

I understand what you\'re saying, but this is really nothing new. It always costs more to buy pieces n parts than to buy the whole. How much do you think your car would cost if you bought the whole thing a piece at a time from the dealership ??? Its a lot less cost effective to sell one mini than to sell a pack of three. Just like its a lot more cost effective to sell a gallon of something than it is to sell 4 seperate quarts. This really isn\'t something invented by GW. ITs just business reality.

I know that GW bashing is just good clean fun and a favorite sport around here, but I really do get tired of it after awhile. It takes about as much creativity and thought as America-bashing or Microsoft-bashing :( And is about as interesting as threads complaining about the voting system on CMON.

Sorry. I\'ll just go off and \"grumble\" in the corner by myself and let you all have your sport now.
