did this for salute but am still not happy with the base (which is a single piece of random plastic i found in the garage!). it need something extra but i don\'t know what!

there is edge highlighting on the armour to help it pop but it doesn\'t show in the photos. the visors were a pain, all the reflections are painted, went for the red-yellow as a contrast to the blue-grey of the armour

c+c welcome

i think the best options for the base would be to add some more clutter in some parts, to make it more industrialised and to make it smaller. i left it this size as there were supposed to be more figs (some creatures and an ambush) but i can\'t be arsed to do anything about it yet

and there are no close up coz my camera skills suck and this one is nicked from the salute website!
vote if it pleases you

Wow painted stuff from Tim

Shame the pic isn\'t bigger.
Can you take new pics that are closer?

What I can see looks good though.

I don\'t like the base much, it looks like a bit of random plastic from your garage.

Still great to see.

from what i can make out (pics are too small mate) it looks a nice piece.
The base looks a little too BBC for me (blakes seven, dr who etc) it could do with a few more items adding such a torn posters, broken crates or general rubbish strewn around, something to add a little atmosphere. (basicly making it look like a movie set instead of a bbc set, no offence ment mate)

I agree with generul, the floor looks to have not enough texture and too clean, add some rubbish and debris to break it up, especially add some bits to the walls.

Apart from looks decent

LOOOOL!!! lol Wonderful comparison!
agreed, it made me laugh as it totally sums up my views!

i had the idea that it was some sort of industrial sewer or tunnelling. there is loads of pigment breaking the base up

if i realised i was gonna give up on the bigger diorama thing, i would have cut the two side bits off, that way the space would have been tighter and utilised better. i shall try and get close ups but i have just moved (friday, and have been visiting my folks since) and have a bombsite to deal with before i get my modelling stuff out!

Nice base whatever it is.

What is it supposed to be?

If a sewer or storm drain, you could put some poodles in it.

If the entrance to a base base, you could add something for ventilation in the knooks on the side to help regulate air flow to get fresh air down into it, maybe some light fixtures. The hole on the top left looks like a good place for an LED to be put that will be a working light.

How about a window on the gaping hole between sections in the top right near what appears to be the circular entrance?

Or in that area where the window would be looking out onto a stationary defense gun to help protect the entrance...destroyed of course since it already looks like someone has broken past security. lol

But these are just a few quick ideas looking at it and not knowing exactly what direction you were wanting to go with it, hope one of them gives you an idea of some sort.

Just make sure you don\'t make such a cramped place too busy with bits and bobs here and there.

it was supposed to be some sort of industrial sewer or something like that

someone on the fod suggested that i could have used it as some sort of space ship by clipping off the sides and turning the big hole into a hatch/door. a painted back drop could then turn the \'gaping hole\' to the right said door into a view port to put it into context

hmm defo some options and maybe something i could do as the models are still removable!

Shadzar, everyone is entitled to his or her opinion, but WTF?

I think adding poodles would RUIN this piece!!

BTW...actually I think the addition of rivets would help immensely.

How about a fan blade in the circular entrance at the rear, as per the obligatory prison escape film set-piece, leading to a (seriously forced perspective) tunnel/vent. If you don\'t want to sculpt the blades, kick open an old computer or get to a cheap PC supplies store, you should get a 40mm chipset fan for £1.50 or so (or free if you ask a repair shop for a go through their WEEE bin).

Some kind of glazing, mesh, two-way-mirror in the rectangular void.

Decide whether the outer left & right areas are indoors or outdoors, they\'re painted the same now but making them outdoor areas may help your indoors look more like an interior.

Lots of industrial (yellow & black stripe kind of thing) signage (visual-clutter generally irl but helps to add character to a model), on the floor for loading area, around walls, also hazard signs, fire extinguishers/alarms (loud speaker/bull horn mounted on wall).

Security keypads for door access, ankle height emergency glow lighting, sprinklers.

Steps/ladder between 2 areas figures are stood on.

Looks nice from what I can see. Some of the detail is lost in the pic so some more pics focusing on specific figures or details would be nice.

As far as comments are concerned I\'ll start with what has already been mentioned: Some posters and random junk would make it more life like. Rodents too; I mean the only think better than a sewer is a rat infested sewer.

Also since there is a lot of grey you might like to add some subtle green glazes to the walls representing lichen and discolouration. I think small random patches here and there would breack up the grey nicely.

No, poodles are cute... Imagine a poodle with a ??? look in his face looking at the squad.

Posters and junk as suggested previously would work well. You could always experiment with water effects and perhaps have some pouring / dripping from the small pipe on the left and pooling on the floor. Something with a slightly green tinge might work quite nicely.

And as for poodles.... NO. Real men dont do poodles. Especially pruned and dyed oodleslol

I like that. Bigger pics please!

Extra detailing would help - panels, hatches, rivets, scored plating etc. Nothing an hour spent with a sheet of plasticard and rod wouldn\'t sort out ;)

It\'s a really convenient shape and size isn\'t it? Glad to have seen the development in this piece - very nice it is. As above re doors, hatches, etc. And that algae man, got to have algae. Glowing algae. Wetness. Oiliness.

Looking forward to clapping eyes on it again squire!

Beautiful Freak - but ya, I\'d love to see some close ups too.

How about some nice oozing, toxic, industrial sewer slime?

And I like the vermin idea - but aren\'t some sewers supposed to have giant alligators living them - or something sufficiently mutant from all of that toxic slime? lol

Great work!

A little corner scene with a couple of poodles cornering a snarling mutant sewer rat would be cool :D

Have you seen the appalling Ang Lee Incredible Hulk film? It\'s worth seeing for the giant poodle scene :)
