So with the impending release of GTA4 tomorow whos got it on pre order, whos hoping they will be able to bag a copy in store.

I\'ve read a lot about the game and I\'m looking forward to it immensly, so much so I have booked a week off to play it. I know I need a life but what ya gona do. The online game play sounds brilliant, playing a game of deathmatch online while the cops are trying to shut you down sounds too good to be true.

I\'m looking forward to the game mode cops n crooks one team of 4 plays as crooks trying to transport your boss some where, the other team plays the cops trying to stop them.

Did I mention I\'m excited

Getting it delivered by Saturday latest. :bouncy:
I thought about getting it tomorrow but decided a few extra college days without a distraction is a definite good thing. :D

It looks intriguing....I like \'sandbox\' type games, and I wish there were more of this type. But, I\'d like to see them branch out and tackle other subjects, other than being a criminal.

How about a free flowing Batman game, with access to all of Gotham. You\'d have main overall story lines, and plenty of subplots to keep it going. MAKE THAT GAME SOMEONE!!

Got GTA4 today, quite impressed with the game as it has advanced quite far and is extremely realistic. Not had long to play it (only bout an hour and a half) but i already have decided it is worth it. It looks stunning, the game is extremely interactive and although people dislike its promotion of violence i would say (from what i have played so far) the character isn\'t a thug by choice, just that the trouble likes him. anyway im not playing i to be moral hehe, its just a kick ass game. The cars look authentic, theres a lot to do (went bowling lol) and well its worth the purchase.

Have you tried the latest SpiderMan and Superman games? They are pretty much DTA clones and do a great job of giving your free reign. Just remember there is always a bounus item on top of the Baxter Building in any Marvel game and on top of the Daily Planet in a Supes game.

\"Couldn\'t care less\" you mean?
Have you played GTA IV, or any of the previous?

I got my copy last night at midnight from a local walmart.

In the first 5 minutes.. I beat up a pregnant woman, dragged a person to death with my car, and shot and killed multiple pigs (cops).

Great game and a perfect escape from the real world.

I\'ll need to see another must have game or two before I buy a new system.

Besides, I\'m still playing Final Fantasy Tactics, for the 20th time, and haven\'t finished san andreas yet lol

I see what you mean DR, if that happened in real life it would be horrific. But its a game so people seem immune from the actual idea of it. It opens up the whole moral debate with how people are willing to do this in a computer game when it is a real life situation etc.

My opinion on this is its all about escapism. Its in a way only like a reversed situation of most other games, people dont argue about killing baddies as a good superhero, or terrorists as a soldier. But if your put in the place of a criminal then everyone gets in a furore.

Im not disrespecting anyones opinion or throwing it out the window, i wish people either liked it and played and enjoyed it or didn\'t like it then left it alone. Too many people seem to get caught up over little things and dont just get on with life itself.

Sorry about the long rant lol, just time is precious and lets enjoy it

The issue is a little more complex than that though. It wouldn\'t be if cert 18 games were just that - only played by people old enough. But they aren\'t. There were parents on the radio over here yesterday openly admitting to letting their 8 and 9 year old kids play GTA (mainly just to shut them up as well!). And that is A Very Bad Thing™ if you ask me. Especially when games/graphics are becoming increasingly visceral and realistic.

I\'m certainly not asking for these games to stop being made - I\'m as happy as the next virtual homicidal maniac when I\'m disembowelling things with a butcher\'s hook. We just need to make sure that they\'re only played by the correct audience.

Surprisingly enough, every store I\'ve walked into has had MANY copies of GTA4.

But the Wii? Sold out signs and notices saying only \"ONE PURCHASE PER FAMILY\". I know Best Buy had a LINE to purchase the 120 Wiis that they were getting on Sunday.

The world is upside down, man! lol

Now I\'ll just slink off with the knowledge that I\'m trying to get both of these consoles.

Wii for the kids and the GTA, er, PS3 for me.

I agree with Scott whole heartedly on this issue of failure of people to respect their role as parents and say NO expecially when it comes to age ratings for Games/Movies.(*) However the problem is that even giving an Audience Rating of 18+ for a game or movie is no guarentee of maturity of the participants.

And yes, I do see that there is a correllation between Video/Computer games and Wargames in that both sets of participants are fantasising violence. So the Irony of that isn\'t lost on me

(* and this harks back to so many discusions about parental responsibility and the development of Chav mentality).
