Guard Trenchers: A WIP

Hi All,

I'm starting a WIP in the hope that it will keep me motivated to keep up with this project. So without further ado, here goes!

While on Holiday in Poland I picked up some Maximini guardsman bits, the first outing of which canbe seen here http://www.coolminiornot.com/307568

Now I've finished some of his mates

Also I have a Chimera sitting and staring at me from my desk. The question is what colour to paint it? As you might have guessed, I'm going for a WW1 feel but coolness overrides all!!

So which do you think would look best?

Well that didn't work very well!! How do you attach images to a post? I thought it was
?

I just click the "insert image" icon. Sadly it doesn't show the code when I do it though. You, however, don't appear to have linked pictures...

The heads look great and different!!

As for the camo i am not really feeling any if them to be honest. If you are going for a WW1 feel, then a dirty dark grey would be best, all dusty and grimy.

While waiting for a bit to arrive for the trencher heavy, I saw this and thought 'here is some potential!'

I'm going for an infantry support vehicle, a bit heavier than a Chimera so I hacked off the turrety bits and added a heavy bolter to come up with this

the next phase will be construction of the turret. Don't know whether to go for the guns mounted back and apart or forward and closer together. Comments?

Also, a couple more camo options to consider

Personally, I'm leaning towards number 4 or 7 but plain brown also appeals.

What do you all think?

Very cool camo on the tanks! Number 7 is my favourite at the moment. I rather like the WW1 feel to your army. Keep it up!

After considerable frustration the Jaguar is ready for painting.

It features magnetised twin Lascannon/Autocannons and moveable turret.

Ready to strike fear into the enemies of the Imperium!! Once I've put some tracks on it....

The most irritating part of this work has been the rivetting on the armour. I cut the rivets from a plastic rod but they all ended up different lengths. Further, the bigger bits were by far the easiest to manipulate into place but look massivly oversized. Any cunning tips on these issues?

Also, the chimera is ready for weathering. I'm just waiting for Wayland games to stop 'Awaiting Stock' and ship me my pigments.

As always comments and criticisms are welcome.

Thanks
