Thank you for the compliments! Now I am seeking a bit of advice for where to go with the model, I'm planning on doing the belly plates in a nmm gold (if I can) but for the the wing leather I wasnt sure what would look right. I dont want to go with the usual brown leather look, and was thinking of just doing a black leather look instead, since there is so much color everywhere else I wanted to tone it down a bit but do something that helps make the other colors pop. Any suggestions?

No new update on the dragon yet, but wanted to share the models I picked from backing the Dante's Inferno Kickstarter:

There are a few others that are being released for add-ons as stretch goals, but I really shouldnt spend any more money, more then likely I'll break down and give in to getting maybe one more.

I put the link above for those who wish to check it out.

Super dynamic sculptures, Charonte is the most impressive of the ones you have selected (IMO). Don't hesitate to share real pics when they reach your place ;)

Yeah I'm definitely excited about the new models coming in, sadly I have to wait a bit, kind of the sucky part about kickstarter.

Here is an update on my dragon. Working on lightening the colors bit by bit. Once I get them where I want I'll try to bring them back together with some glazes. Also on the belly I started trying my hand a gold NMM. The belly is no where near complete just building up to the highlights and trying to plan on where they go.

Dragon coming along really well Guawol and starting to pop now the primer is slowly being covered up.

Those Dantes minis are great....something about how much is going on on them intimidates me though. Not sure I can face the kickstarter wait either...I backed Massive Darkness back in June last year and we are still waiting....slipped to July this year at the last update.

I'm breaking away from the rainbow scales for a little bit so I can focus on the other primed parts and start flushing out all the colors on the model. I think it will bring more life to the dragon :)

@ Hairster, yeah I'm afraid that is going to happen with Gloomhaven and Rising Sun, but I did get an update from the Dantes Inferno ppl saying they have already decide to start production on the models rather then wait for the end of their Kickstarter, so hopefully that means I'll get the models quicker. Either way I still have lots to paint so I have time. I still have the 4 D&D myrmidons to paint, you can see that I have primed the earth one in the background.

These are a few other models I have coming my way eventually. I thought they would just be fun to paint, kind of comical. These ones are dipped in some kind of ink to show off the detail a bit more according to the manufacture.

Dragon's looking nice. I'm sure as those huge wings come together we'll really get a better sense of what he'll eventually look like.
The models you've ordered look awesome. Who makes the funny ones in your last post? I like the troll guy a lot, but what does he have under his left hand?

The funny ones are from Greebo games, I'm backing them on kickstarter to get those models. The troll is holding onto Easter Eggs, basically he killed the Easter Bunny and stole its eggs. And thanks for the compliment on the Dragon, I'm still not 100% what I want to do for the wing membranes so I might come to them last, right now just trying to finish off the Gold NMM on the belly and then start working on the hands, feet, and claws.

Just a quick update. Last night I tried my hand at gold nmm on the belly scales. I'm happy with the first attempt but I'll go back and try to smooth out some of the colors a bit more later. I should be able to get a few hours of work on the model Sun, so hopefully I can get a good amount of progress finished.

I've never attempted NMM and probably am not the best person to give advice as a result but to my eyes, this guy is looking better and better with each update! I look forward to seeing more updates in the near future :)

Here is the work I did over the weekend. Primarily focused on the wing membranes. I started off trying a technique I found on youtube, but didn't really like the way it looked so I tried to "wing" it by doing it my own way. I'm actually happy with how it came out, the first technique actually added a texture to the wings. There are still lots of areas I can improve, especially with making the color transitions smoother. The dragon is coming more and more alive :)

Yes! Really coming on in a big way now Guawol....great work on the NMM and the wings. It's really pulling together now the primer is disappearing.

Remember what I said to you guys this(tutorials) is always going to show up diff not better or worse but because its in your hands and not the dude or dudette giving the tut. Hats EXACTLY how it's going to work and by wingin it your getting a tone of practice by implementing your own routine and as we can clearly see here it worked out very well. A job well done this far. Your doing everything right bud.;)

Thanks Hairster! I appreciate the compliment. I'm going to be incorporating more of the gold nnm in future projects so I can get more practice at it.

I total agree BAM. I use tutorials like I do cooking recipes. I start off following it exactly, but each time I try the process I tailor it more to myself until it becomes mine.

And here is a few update pics. Not a whole lot done, went on a backpacking/camping trip this weekend. I have added bits of white to the fins and hands, and have begun making the horns and spikes on the face gold. I'm playing around with the face horns and spikes, trying to figure out exactly how I want it to look, before I move on the to rest of the body spikes. Once that is done I'll move on to the eyes and inner mouth.

This whole project is evolving into such a wonderful display of talent. Don't rush, stay your course and by the time this piece is finished it will be a level up piece for your collection.

Thanks BAM! I keep plodding along doing little bits here and there, trying to stay focused on this model, even though my attention keeps trying to wonder away to another project. I'm not letting myself because if I do start the next one I'll probably never get back to the dragon. I'm happy with how the dragon is looking and I have learned a lot working on it, opening my eyes to new techniques which I'm excited about trying on more and more projects. And I have a lot of them coming in over the next few months, pretty sure I wont have to buy any new miniatures until sometime next year :p
