GW Bitz Catalogue

The GW Bitz Catalogue is now available as a downloadable PDF from the GW site, I know a couple of people were asking about what was happening to the \'bitz\' service the other day, so I figured I\'d make it aware.

Just figured people round here would find the GW site easy enough lol

You should know by now that folks here are too lazy to find things for themselves. I say that as right now I\'m feeling really lazy myself.

EDIT: Ooh, looks like they\'ve made some old models available again. Good to see the humourous models again.

Downloaded that and despite the fact that there\'s a few Dragons I haven\'t got, the majority of the catalogue is collectors pieces and not bits.

If your local store still has the \"collectors\" Guides then you may be better off looking for the codes in that or in the online store while you can.

\"While you can\" has unfortunately been and gone. Mail order no longer does single parts unless they are contained in these new bits selections apparently. The reason they gave me when I asked was that with 25 years worth of bits available it was getting beyond their ability to sustain. It\'s a poor excuse at best really. They went over to a live stock system a while back so they know exactly how many of each part they sell. A better idea would have been to work out how many parts they could cope with and then plot what the most popular bits were and retain a given ammount of them as orderable parts and dump the rest.

This kind of spells doom for avid conversion fans like myself as it\'s going to be nigh on impossible to get the parts you\'re after unless they happen to be on a site like BWbits or are included in one of these new bits pack things. Even then I\'m loathe to pay £6.00 or whatever just to get hold of a single arm and a load of bits I\'ll never use. What\'s really stupid is that they\'ve done it slap bang in the middle of the Ork release, possibly the 40k army with the most potential for conversions.

Someone in Nottingham hasn\'t got the sense they were born with...

Its starting to look more and more like the stupid bug will move over there as well.

Its almost as if they dont want to sell things...

Has anyone pointed out that its possible to use a computer to keep track of these things to them?

Is there a U.S. version?

Yep, there is a US version and it sucks just as bad as the UK one. Looks like GW got tired of making money so no more bitz. It\'s a sad day when a hobby company no longer wants to support the hobby.

Just to piss off the GW suits and lawyers, start recasting your own bitz!!!

Why not?
Loads of people on ebay already do!!
Seen lots of metal items that were never cast in metal, but somehow they have them, and LOTS of \'em too!

LOL
GW keeps it up, and I\'ll be playing \"Their\" game, with someone else\'s minis.

I had a look through the catalogue last night and it is very disappointing to say the least. I thought the majority of it is stuff that was released over teh last few years as Special Editions/Direct Only with a few smatterings of old figures at todays prices,

I have a whole pile of origonal Marines from Rogue Trader onwards that I was going to EBAY to finance buying more stuff for the never ending collection but now I am not sure it is worth the hassle.

Maybe it is a plot by GW to try and clamp down on people that sell their old miniatures on sites such as EBAY???

How can they call it a \"Bitz\" catalogue? I see no bitz in there, just full models.

Gee, GW have sold out the hobbyist again.

Yes I will admit that the first time I opened it I thought I had downloaded the 2008 product line in a lot of respects.

Doesn\'t the share holders and suites always sell out the hobbiest at the price of their own greed???

Where did you see rogue trader marines in there? Those five armour variants?

Releasing those old limited edition models is a cruel blow to collectors, tho.

No what I meant was that some of the ones in the catalogue I was going to EBAY and that the RT Marines I have a s doubles in my collection would have been in amongst the ones I was going to put up.
