GW changes to cheaper materials and puts up prices.

It's the weekend here in Oz right now - world hasn't ended yet. Maybe it's on Sun. Whatever the case, I'll give you a buck for all your worldly possessions as you go to your reward, how about that?

DR is MEERCAT from meercova!
Closer to a Badger in shape and colour however.(Temperament too according to the missus)

Secrets of third riech looks sweet as does flames of war.
SOTR is in fact a much simpler game system than 40K, better game mechanics, fewer characters and a more balanced gaming experience. (Ok a squad of Para's armed with Stens has a horrific rate of fire - 30 shots. but as long as you're on the giving end. Well jobs a good'un) Take out the Zombies/Horror element and its a straight forward WWII game. Westwind miniatures are pretty good to work with, descent sculpts, add to the fact you can use most 28mm WWII figures (Warlord etc) and the cost difference casts GW into the Fred Goodwin of the Modeling/Gaming world.
Flames of War, well it has a few faults. Pricey for their own stuff, it tends to expect the historical "paper contingent" levels instead of being accurate, listing full companys on the German retreat from Russia, instead of the 5-10% remainders that there were. (and 5-10% is pushing it a bit)

BUT i love playing 40k im just glad i have everything i need for my army.
Hey I Still have my 'Sisters' army and don't think I'll ever part with it.

The Rapture, man. Haven't you heard?! All us filthy heathens are gonna be smoten by god today.

Have to say though, if it happens I'll feel so cheated. I got years left to extort money, hold up banks, whack rival mobs, fight wars and be a dirty little man. If i'm going to hell I wanna at least feel like I earned it...

Don't worry my friend GW has that covered! They will be selling you a space marine helmet to repulse all that toxic resin dust....So you will have your flamer airbrush and space marine helmet to work on all that GW goodness....Dont forget to pick up your apocalypse army while on your way out as it will cost you big $$$$ just to play that game with all the price increases GW has coming.....Happy Hobbying to all! :suspicious:

So, you are saying you own three Games Workshop model. :D

I only started re buying GW models because of the chance to game. I am sorry, but it is easier to gt players for Warhammer 40,000 or Fantasy Battles than anything.

I've always like Dark Age. I guess I will get some of their books books.

I don't buy much GW. Haven't spent more $300 on them in the last 5yrs or so...

Don't have that big a problem with it all. Agreeing with skraal, I want to know more first. Been poking my head in on the gw FB page seeing the nerd rage lol. Loads of comments but they are mostly from the same 30 odd people.
I think it might be the 'world ending' peeps that have found a new cause haha

What a shameless attempt to get this thread back on topic. ;p Oh well, guess we do need something to bitch about since the world appears to still be here for most of us.

Aside from the whole "We're gonna pretend resin costs more, and therefore charge you more" issue, I worry about the durability. I think a lot of people, myself included, have to carry their toys to work / school with them in the car in hopes of getting a game in afterward. I have worries with resin models of coming back to find the resin has softened and left everyone with a case of droopy sword syndrome, or worse. Does someone who's owned a few more resin pieces know if this is a legitimate fear, or do they have newer formulations that will handle the heat better?
