Thanks!

But has Games Workshop never heard of Photoshop....those pics are aweful:|~

Simple auto-levelling would work wonders...

Also, is it just me, or do a few of those look very ordinary indeed???

*EDIT* Dammit FK...will you stop reading my mind!!!;)

Not just you I find a lot of them not that inspiring, OK they are not the best of shots but looking at them one gets the impression that a lot of good entries have been passed over.

especially the \'harder\' categories like fantasy and 40k single don\'t look that good this year imho. The outsider categories like diorama and open look much, MUCH better!

Hey, the Gold in fantasy and 40k single are still great!
That Chaos Marauder\'s fantastic, to say the least... And the same goes for Bragon\'s winning 40k entry...

Yeah there are still some nice stuff, but minis like the bronze in WHFB single looks pretty simple, and not that nice, that is without mentioning the base.

I have always thought there were a couple of \"questionable\" winners in most GD competitions and this year seems to be pretty much the same. There are some awesome pieces there, though. The mounted nurgle lord and the chaos doombull stick out particularly. I also like that poor tank commander but mostly \'cause of the idea.

*edit* Looked at the tank commander a bit more and it is very nicely painted too.

WTF!

Ok, let\'s see what we have here... yup, the pics are a bit shit, but so a some of the entries! Well, maybe not that bad, but some are pretty bog standard.

WF single mini:

The bronze entry is nothing special. A 6 on CMON. The silver is brilliant and should have got gold. The gold, whilst an expressive mini, isn\'t exactly clad in an incredible paintjob. This category must have been judged by blind chimps!

Fantasy regiment:

Pics too crap to tell for two entries and the other just isn\'t close enough to judge the quality.

Fantasy monster:

What\'s so special about the Bretonnian? Nothing better that deserved bronze eh? Once again, the gy who got silver should have got gold. The gold is good, but the silver is better in my opinion!

LOTR:

Nice paintjobs all round, but pics are terrible.

Large scale:

Gold deserved gold. The other two are nothing special paint wise.

Am I bitching too much? Probably!

;)

I really don\'t like the bronze entry for Warhammer Fantasy Single Miniature. It\'s a clever concept, but there\'s something about the skin I don\'t like, maybe in needs another shade layer, also, the right \'spiky wrist\' thing, it dosn\'t look very well painted. So that miniature could have been better.

The gold entry for the Large Scale Miniature really does deserve a gold, as a previous poster said.

I also really like Feral Orks Mob in the Warhammer 40,000 Squad category. Although I can\'t see them very clearly, the Warboss at the back looks great, as do all the converted individual Orks.
Also the Cadian Military Police are well done.

btw. any idea who got the sword this time? :)

if i should spot a finger on the mini which should get it i´d say the open-winner .... awesome thing ... but open can´t get the sword.
Maybe bragons second sword within 2 months :D ?

the gold 40k single mini ... this mounted Inquisitor chick.

lets say its the 40k version of the mini which brought him gold and the sword in germany, and i´d say it is more appealing now with the heavier conversion.
edit: sometimes i should open my eyes or should wait for the site beeing loaded completely :D

\"2004 Slayer Sword Winner Jacques-Alexandre Gillois\"

still want to know which mini it was

Oh, right... That\'s the mini that took the sword. And Jacques Alexandre Gillois can\'t paint? You\'re the first to say so... :D

Well, matter of taste. Allan\'s work looks better to me though... :)

Well, just a bit around the edges... :)

@goatman : it\'s the chaos marauder (gold single battle).

well, the biggest story of the day was ofcourse Victor Hardy\'s Deamon Prince not placing for use of improper religious iconography. There is a link on the \'other entrants\' bit on the site, but not a very good shot.
it was decided that the piece would not place due to the overly christian imigary used on the piece, something that can be interpreted in a wrong way by people,....big shame, gorgeous piece, and i\'m not a big fan of Hardy\'s work, find it too bright, but this was very earthy, very nice stuff. I guessd they were right, mostly due to the fact that it is games workshop imegary that you\'re supposed to portray, plus ofcourse the problems it may cause with religiously overactive people...
