You might want to think your paints and work your way up with the reds, that will give you a really rich deep red.. it\'s a little slow, but it pays off in the end.
Maybe hit the bone with one more highlight.. it doesn\'t quite pop from the metal.
I *love* the sheild design with the lone reaper. a whole unit of these guys will be sweet.

a whole unit of these guys will be sweet.I agree that the shield is very cool. You might want to throw a hint of blue in the actual outfit of the guards just to tie the shields in. Perhaps the helmet.
Anyway, I like the red. Too much highlight and you\'re going to ruin the dingy, fresh-from-the-ground quality. I also think the bone looks rather nice. Especially on the far left fig in the first picture. Even his close up looks good.
The thing I think needs work is the metallics. I can see the highlights in the close up, but they are faint. And you seriously need to thin those metallics. I agree that your colors could use some thinning, but that is not that bad at all. Your metallics, however, are suffering from lack of thinning. In the close up you can see that the paint is so think on the helmets the fine edges have been dulled.
And, just as a point of my personal tastes, you might try throwing in some brighter metallics here and there on the armour. It will lend to that old fashioned look, and it will add some contrast to catch the eye.
