GW Paint Labels

Hey Guys,

So I bought a bunch of GW paints recently and transferred them over from pots to dropper bottles. Well I of course had to label them. So last night when I did the transfer I created a Word Document with GW paint names.

I figured since I went through the hassle of doing it I might as well share what I got.

If anyone is in need of GW paint labels go ahead and email me

i\'m very tempted to take all of my vallejo\'s out of dropper bottles as i\'m sick of the dropper part getting stuck in the cap!

vallejo in a foundry style pot would be the best of both worlds for me.
or foundry paints without that horendous postage.

Well I like the dropper bottles because I can just drop out exactly what I need and I\'ve already got recipes in my head but spooning out the paint just isn\'t working well for me. I always keep paperclips handy too in case they do get clogged. It just takes an extra minute but it\'s not that bad.

Transferring from pot to bottle too isn\'t bad at all. Everyone has always said how difficult it is but it really wasn\'t bad at all. Took me about three hours to transfer over 40 paints to dropper bottles last night.

well for nauseating blue soup first you get a bunch of leaks then you tie them together with blue string that you find in a cupboard then you put it in the broth you are trying to make not realizing that the blue dye will turn the soup blue. Then you invite a ton of your friends over to have blue soup, marmalade and an omlette.

Ok, name that movie . . .

nah, just kidding. I think this is a great idea, but i only have GW paints and a single bottle from (i think) the master painter set. Love the idea though, and thanks for your consideration towards all CMON members.

rosac--you can actually buy empty vallejo bottles and transfer the paints over. That\'s what I was doing last night. That way you don\'t use the pots any more and it\'s easier to pour the paint and use less actually. One pot fills about 2/3 a vallejo bottle. I got 66 bottles for $50 which isn\'t a bad deal at all considering I will use them till the end of my painting days (which translates to the end of my life).

@alex--correct! You win the grand prize of . . . nothing!

Heh, it\'s a nice resource, but I cheated. I peeled the labels off the GW paint pots and taped them onto my dropper bottles :)

I\'m not using much GW paint these days though, as whether they\'re in dropper bottles or in their original pots, they still dry up ridiculously fast. At least here in the desert anyways.

I think I\'d rather be in a desert close to San Diego than in a desert in Texas.

I also have a problem with my GW paints drying out quickly. I have to reliquidate them almost every month. Sheesh.

Yup but not all of Texas is a desert just West Texas is. Where I live is a few miles from a lake. It\'s actually really humid and green here. It\'s purdy!

But desert does have a charm all it\'s own. I do miss AZ sometimes.

I think the thing I dislike most about the GW paint pots is the black lids. I miss their old white lids. You could put a dollop of paint on the top and very easily tell what color you were grabbing. So hard to tell now without sorting through them all.

As for the smell... anyone remember GW\'s \"Stinky Primer\"? =)

Personally I just don\'t like the lids that snap on at all. Just seems to slow me down being careful opening them, making sure they really are closed all the way. I dunno dropper bottles are what I\'m used to. Creature of habit I suppose.

I agree with you. It\'s my biggest complaint about P3 paints, which I really like otherwise (well, that and there needs to be more colors). I also have a few of the really old GW paints that were in pots very similar to the ones the P3 paints come in now. Any of the ones I use regularly eventually snap off completely. It makes a serious mess every time I try to open them. Which sucks because it\'s also the best seal - none of the paints in those bottles, despite being more than 10 years old - is anywhere close to drying out. Even my dropper bottles don\'t seal as well.

Yeah, meg chose transfering paint to talkin with me last night I supposed I don\'t mind playing second fiddle to a bottle of paint:D Of course she did email me the label document first because she loves me:kiss:
