I\'m sorry, but $.20 more for a pot of paint doesn\'t hold a candle to my new favorite GW insanity.
I walked into my local shop because I needed a new can of black primer. I had resigned myself to the fact that what used to be an $8 can of primer was $10 as of the last time I picked one up and so I walk in and almost hit the floor when they are charging $15 for black primer.

There is a concept that is tossed around in one of many marketing classes called just noticeable difference (JND) which talks about how depending on the initial price of something any increase or decrease in price can seem intolerable. If the price of a $40,000 car goes up by $1,000 it is not that noticeable because the relative price is so high. This would be an increase that would be considered JND. However when a paint pot price increases by roughly 13% from $3.20 to $3.70, even though 50 cents is far less than $1,000, that is a large difference in price and is way beyond a just noticeable difference.

HEY! I remember gas prices like that as well as penny candies.
Well if anyone knows how to make old pots of GW paint come back to life, then I would like to know with these 400 pots I have that are starting not to even be helped with weekly shakings.
Vallejo pretty much is the same paint. I am torn whether to switch to it or Reaper.

Amen Shawn. I never bought a can of GW\'s over price primer. But, since living in Asia, I have switched to Gesso paint on primer. A four dollar jar lasted two years. It would have been longer if I had closed it correctly.

I think the current GW primer formula works great. It dries quick and does not mess up the details like that last formula did. They also changed the spray nozzle and the spray goes not cake around the nozzle as much. It also does not get all over your finger. However that price is terrible. $15 is a rip off. We all know their stuff is made in sweat shops so why can\'t we see some sweat shop pricing (cheap)?

Aside from bad jokes; I\'ve come into a bit of a dilema regarding paint myself! I noticed that GW paint has gone up stupidly in price (regarding the amount of comercial interest in their products I can\'t figure out why either), I was wondering about the versatility and general application of Vallejo.
I\'ve heard they\'re just as good (if not better) than citadel. And I have seen some epic pieces painted on here using this line. Further to the fact I saw mike putting forward something about the airbrush metallics (which is a bonus since I like using metallics).
Cons I hear are bad seperation and a \"waxy2 consistancy. Yet the paint stay on the palate for a good while rather than GW drying up under strong light.
Which is also a con seeing as you have to wait for that layer to dry lol

Some people will believe they\'re better, some will adhere to GW\'s being better.
Opinions vary; it\'ll usually come down to personal preference as much as anything.

Waxy? Don\'t remember reading that.
We practically never have to wait for paint to dry, but if you find it\'s drying too slowly on the mini surface break out the hairdryer!
