GW Purity Seal (Satin Varnsih)

Havent used much, if any, GW paints and such. My only problem with what I have seen with many such things is that what you have is some fairly normal stuff, with a recognised name on it and thus they will really jack the price up.
I\'ve had good luck with Rust-Oleum. Good quality, moderate price, no fancy name attached.

I haven\'t used the current Purity Seal. GW has changed manufacturers back and forth so many times over the years it\'s hard to tell what you\'re buying anymore.
\'Ardcoat is good, it\'s glossy but it protects better than anything else I\'ve used and you can tone it down with a bit of Testors Dullcote or whatever later on. Purity seal has gone back and forth in quality since its original release way back in the day. Sadly it\'s one of the products that I\'ve had the most problems with at times (it tends to \"frost\" models once in a while for no apparent reason). I\'d stick to Testors Dullcote over top of GW \'Ardcoat it seems to be a good way to varnish minis.
I think GW might have a Matte Varnish now as well, haven\'t tried it either but it might be worth asking around about.

1. They\'ve had so many quality control issues with that stuff that I am amazed they even still try to sell it.
2. Best use is as a weight in the bottom of the plastic bin liner. If I had a quarter for every person that has ruined a paint job by using any of GW\'s clear products on them, I would not be sitting here.

Gaming mini:
Try 2-3 coats of Krylon Krystal Klear for a nice hard shiney coat. Twice as much for half the price. Then a light coat of Testor\'s DulCoat.
