gw rant

in the UK all codexs are going up from 12 to 15£

Sounds like you avoided the last price rise and your getting 2 at once now to bring them in line.

Metals are going up by about 15%

they have committed to keeping plastics the same price

If you feel it\'s too much, then consider spending your dollars elsewhere. It\'s not an essential service. My heating bill will be going up 18% this winter as will my other services like electricity and gas etc. I live in friggin\' Canada man, I need my heat!

If anybody doesn\'t like what they\'re being charged, why go on about it? They\'re not car-jacking you or anything.

Man, GW is just the company people love to hate. There\'s a guy here locally who is always pissing about the increases in his 40k stuff. He owns 10,000pnts of Chaos stuff, about the same of Imperial Guard, A Forge World Titan etc. and he still goes on about an increase in the cost of his figs. Why doesn\'t he just buy a little less? Who knows, he\'d argue it\'s not the point.

I understand when people feel something they loved gets pushed out of their price range they get angry, but the GW games are big 28mm army games that cost ALOT to play. Always will. Go back to the days before plastic and price out what an army would cost.

That\'s it. I am officially appointing myself the Privateer Press and Rackham price watch sheriff. Any time they increase their stuff I will stand by the racks in the store where this stuff is located and read everything cover to cover, complain about the prices, then leave without paying for anything!

That\'s right Rackham! You too Privateer press! No more free rides, I\'m giving you the Gee-Dub treatment in full force from now on.

Tbh these rant threads really get annoying, ok the prices are going up and it seems unfair and they tell their reasons.

Petrol prices have gone up as have pewter an tin costs, printing costs more and as someone else has said GW aren\'t exactly publishing as much as most other companies.

Like yea the price rises are a pain, but if you like the models you\'ll buy or if you wana play the game you\'ll buy the codex.

£3 aint shit to me, its dinner at work.

Also not all metal models are increasing. Plus it coincides with the fact that more future releases are aiming to be plastic.

I know some people will disagree with me here, and no i dont work for GW but like its a waste of time gettin annoyed just enjoy the hobby best you can, a rant wont change the price increases.

it is a very cool book...i took such a long time checkin\' out the artwork and minis, that all the gamers were about to linch me at games day...they kept askin\' for stats, while i was droolin\' over the art...

as a painter, i\'m very excited about the new characters, and a hefty book to inspire me is always a good thing...

Well I do not want to be boring, pals, but this discussion is as piontless as it can get. What are we discussiong here? The fact that everyone who buys GW products is annoyed by the price increase is obvious - noone likes to pay more for the same. We do not neet to talk about it.
The question about the increase being justified or not is an equally pointless one. Of course everyone here can think of a justification, just just as everyone can think of a way to make the justification invalid. The fact is: GW is forcing the increase upon its customers. You have the choice: a) bear it (go on bying their stuff) or not (start painting pebbles/pieces of wood/vegetables). That´s it basically. We can be upset about the increase but can not do anythung. I will by the marine codex, I play ultras myself and I´ve seen the codex and it´s a good piece of work althouth the price is absolutey unreasonable - as I said, there is nothing one can do about it.

Agreed some of the new models are exquisite, i managed to get a glimpse at my local Gw the other thursday, and the characters are pretty sweet, the sicarius is nice as well as the scout and crimson fist character.

The new veterans look pretty sweet too.

Tough times call for GW to increase their prices, but tough times also call for me to reduce how much I purchase.

I\'ll always buy GW stuff, no matter the price. I absolutely love it. Prices are going up everywhere, so I just overlook it. I\'ve got enough models to last me a while, so I\'ll just restrict myself to buying only the best of the new shiny things.

Paints are going up too. From what I have heard metallics are staying at $3.50 and all the other paints are going up .50 cents to match them, at $3.50. That\'s not too much of a problem to me. I\'ll always use the foundation, washes, and metallic colors, so it doesn\'t matter what they charge for them as I\'ll always use them. There\'s a good amount of paints in the Citadel Color range that I like too, but most of the others I imagine I\'ll slowly replace with P3.

As far as paying $7 more for an army book, I don\'t mind too much. Since plastics aren\'t going up it doesn\'t increase the cost of the army as a whole very much at all. With the exception of the tournament players who own every single army book (or the fluff guru\'s too I guess) it isn\'t too bad.

Their metal figure prices are competitively priced compared to other manufacturers, or at least it seems that way to me. Other companies are doing it but when Games Workshop announces anything related to prices it seems that they get the worst end of it.

if ya wanna get angry at something, what about the prices for organic fruits and veggies...

There is a new chain opening up around SoCal called Fresh and Easy. It is like trader joes, only cheaper, and they have a bunch of organic goodies. Time to move to Cali. The only cheap organic food products in Alaska are humans for grizzly bears!

I have to say that the GW price increase seems like nothing to me now that Fantasy Flight has announced 15-25% increase in price on all of their products. That\'s going to hit my pocket book way more then any GW increase. Seems that new edition of Talisman may need to go on the xmas list intead of the must buy list.

Prices are going up everywhere on pretty much everything. Beer prices just saw a hike due to the cost of transport and grain. Gas just his $1.38 a Lt. here this morning. A 2L of Coke just topped $2 each. The Warmachine Rulebooks are over $45 each. In no way is GW the only one raising prices. I just got a notice from Weed Man yesterday that keeping my grass green is going to cost me an extra $30 next year. It\'s called inflation and this year it\'s infating quickly. I just wish my pay was going up by the same scale.

Couple of things...

It is like trader joes, only cheaper,
Must check this out as there is a Fresh and easy that just opened near me in AZ and the closest Trader Joe\'s is almost 50 miles away.

Not that suprised to hear Fantasy Flight will be doing such a huge price jump. The company has had a long history of money problems, it\'s what killed their Dragonstar RPG before it had a chance.

Now as to the GW price hike... :drunk::drunk::drunk::drunk::drunk:
