GW store unhelpful/rude? service

I always believed GW staff had all the nastiness removed from them on the frequent trips to Lenton (electrodes) and were surgically altered to grin on seeing a new human walk through the door of their store.

The guys im my local shop are great even though I\'ve been going in since 1994 and they never remember my name. Always helpful and polite and came to my rescue when some drunken guy wandered in and enquired as to what was going on \"We have to keep the Tyranids away from the kill team until they plant the meltabombs on the hive maw\" \"eh?\".

And yet in other ones they\'re complete morons who wouldnt know an Exodite from a Harlequin and just try to sell you some shiney garbage.

I only every had to phone mail order once and that was because I had no backpacks in my Chaos marines box. They sent me the backpacks AND a free box of Chaos marines for free!

Its all relative to the person.

I\'ve had nothing but good service from them. Their damned pricing structure/increases are one thing, but I\'ve always had top notch customer service from them. In one case, I even had an extra figure put in because the they said they took \"too long\" in getting it shipped -- I think it took a week!

Also, in case you missed it when DarkZealot said it: Order through a store whenever possible. Free shipping.

The only time I order from the online store is when I\'m ordering more than $100 worth -- also free shipping.

But gads, I freaking hate their prices in general.

One more thing... Sure, bitching about GW is pretty old, but hasn\'t this drinking game thing run it\'s course? At least with the rants, you have a chance of reading something new... once you\'ve heard the \"drink\" joke, that\'s pretty much the limit of it, isn\'t it?

Kind of ironic that the most tired thing about the GW rants is the overdone \"drink\" comments in response... <G>

I get on really well with my Local GW store.
Mind you that\'s probably \'cos my friend & I have caught about a half dozen shop lifters in the last few years. :)

Grey Mouser: All in all if you\'ve found that you\'ve got bad or rude service from either a GW store or Mail order, put it in writing and snail mail it. GW\'s view of their staff attutude is pretty much customer focused (Surprise, surprise!) and they\'ll take an interest in the issue. (Snail mail is more effective for them than Email which can be ignored.)
