Latest news from the UK is that GW are trying to rule the world ... again. This time they want to assert the right to the phrase "Space marine" saying it is part of their trademark. Full details here : http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-21380003

I'd like to think that this was just a PR exercise, but sadly due to previous actions taken by the company I believe that they are serious over this. Space marine has been banded around as a term virtually since Sci- Fi was first introduced as a genre of writing. How GW think they have a "right " to it is beyond me. Another case of GW p*ssing off everybody around them.

Why am I not surprised? But hey what about r e heinlein didn't he use that phrase first? And I'm sure if they want to get into the whole who owns names etc wouldn't Michael moorcock have something to say about the gods of chaos and dark elves as they're ip is an almost word for word rip off of his ideas eh?
