I\'ve actually heard of the judges drilling into a scratch built area on a mini just to make sure it was not something from another company. Heard of it but not seen it mind so I\'m not totally sure it\'s true but I\'d be pissed if they did that to MY mini!
I heard they rape kittens and vomit live snakes for their dark lord Satan.

My point being, you hear a lot of things. If judges really acted this way it would be a cold day before a lot of \"professional\" painters entered the GD. For one thing a lot of winners go on the online auction block later.

Probably true which is why I tried to make it clear it\'s what I heard and not actually a cold hard fact.

They dipped my entry in nail varnish remover and tested every piece in a lab to check it was GW white metal then made me paint it again while chained to a table with only citadel colors and brushes, true story !

There was a Cryx Slayer warjack (I think), that won (not sure if it was gold, silver, bronze) within the last year or so. It was so obvious, barely any conversion work to hide its origins. It had an arm swap and a helmet switch, if I recall. Possibly some Nurgley bits, can\'t remember exactly, can\'t find it either to check. I just remember thinking WTF? Anyone else see/notice/remember that one? I think it was entered as a Nurgle or Chaos Dreadnaught.

Anyway, it seems to be fairly common for other company stuff to slip through. I\'d imagine even if the judges clue in, it would go something like

\"Hey there participant X, this here figure is from company Y, you are disqualified and banned.\"

\"Whoa, no wayz! I sculpted that with my pro skills, take a hike hozer!\"

Scratches the paint off. \"But it\'s metal!\"

\"Yeah, I casted it. Sheesh.\"

\"Oh, I guess we can\'t prove you didn\'t, ok, you win silver, grats.\"
