GW's first official picture of a miniature painted in a dark skintone?

So I just got the newsmail from Games Workshop, and I noticed that there's a helmeted chaos somethingsomething (don't know what unit it is) that is painted in a dark skintone. So I tried to recall if I had ever seen an official 'eavy metal picture of a mini painted in a dark skintone before, but couldn't think of any. Is this the first time? I am strictly talking about their official promotional material here. Things they display in White Dwarf, on their website and so on.

If you know of any earlier, "official" pictures that show miniatures painted in dark skintones, then please prove me wrong.

I'm not 100% and don't have time to trawl back through all my old WD's but I thought one of the Space Marine scouts was when it was first released, so we're talking 1998 - 1999 ?

I really hope that you're correct. Thanks for letting me know. Still think they could do better though.

GW is not alone. Military miniatures are also very white. I think Verlinden might be the only company to produce a black soldier.
