A little plain. The drool looks good tho. Maybe your whip could be a different color to break up the model.

Good idea. Giger rocks! I agree with Ogrebane. I think thats the problem with creating something like this. Though the imagery of the films are dark in colour i think it would be hard to make them look interesting in mini form. Maybe IRL they would stand out more. Better pics maybe?

Cool, but again... A lot of...

BLACK! BLACK! Mother locks me in the cupboard and feeds me pins!! What\'s for tea mother...? Pin stew...???

Ahem... Sorry... Yes, maybe a sheen of blue or someother colour would give it that extra something...?

Slight overkill on the drool, but I like it! Is it woodland scenics water?

The aliens actually had a green tint to them. Go with a Panzer gray (very dark grey green - almost black) up to komando kaaki?

Gigers stuff was all back and greys. great studies in shapes & lights.

If you want them to look wet or glossy, use some even brighter highlights in narrower areas. (spray one glossy and take a pic under lights.)

I guess my photography skills suck that bad... it\'s painted black with a touch of dark angels green and highlighted up to ivory and sprayed with Krylon Krystal Klear gloss sealant. The acid drool is lengths of fishing line glued together and covered with many many many coats of acrylic gloss medium with a wash of undiluted green ink about halfway through.

For game play, glossy models are fine. But for display, it is better to paint them to look glossy and have them matt sealed. Just photos better.

Yea, a couple of washes of green should bring out a green tint, but i looks like it needs much more highlights. Look at some of Giger\'s work, very little black, lots of gray and even white - almost as much white as black.

P.S. it is Giger. Geiger made a radiation counter.

Like the drool cheers for the tip...
Probably would look good over the whole army but as individual display photographed like this the effect is a bit plain..
I was gonna comment on Giger\'s use of green/grey and slightly earthy tones but the pic above somes it up nicely...
The extra contrast would look cool and define areas of the model more clearly..

also getting rid of the head spike and some of the other protrusions would give a more Gigeresque feel..

The drool is how I make blood :)

I wondered about why you made them black as well if they were to represent aliens, as they are more grey/whiteish...

Either way, it looks good, but more details could have been painted up to stand out.

Then job well done Samurai-ko ;) As long as your friend is happy, which I\'m sure he/she will be. Painting an army/force all on your own is not an easy thing to do and you deserve a thumbs up ;)

here here... Constraints placed by customers sometimes restrict but also fire up ideas..and as I said an army of these on the tabletop would look awesome..

How many figures...?

Any Genestealers? (As Alien was the inspiration for them almost in entirety!!)

Nice look. You might just want to do a light drybrush of dark grey onto edges, to give a bit of highlighting.

Nice work though.
