Cool so do you have a step by. Hair is one of my weak points (Not the having it I have it in abundance) the painting of it.

It occurs to me that one shouldn\'t paint hair like I have been doing (trying to paint every strand) but do it more an impressionist artist would....at least that is what I get from Tzors pic....yeah, I\'d love to see a step by step as well.

well done! hair is tough and this looks great. she did a fine job teaching and you did a fine job learning.

ive always maintained though, that the best way to learn hair hilighting, is to stare at pretty girls (ok, so it doesnt do much for the painting....) :D.

@ vike - i use a combination of both.

That hair is fantastic! It looks so realistic. I think I better stick to Orcs and bald things. lol. I couldn\'t hold a candle to that paint job.

That\'s right! You should paint most of the highlights as if there were no individual strands and then just do the final highlights on each strand individually.

Her basic argument is you have to look at hair almost as though it were a solid metal helmit, with the one difference that you should always paint in the direction of the hair. Then afterwards you can look at the individual strands. Multiple layers of highlights and washes until you are happy, get bored, run out of time, or are so annoyed you throw the mini through the window.

So armed with this class, you can naturally expect that when I do get my slot in the speed painting contest, the mini was a hairless snake dude. lol

Not that it would have mattered, that hair class was almost two hours long, and not the 45 minutes one gets to speed paint a mini.

What colours did you use there? Looks very natural?

Living in Japan I\'m trying to develop an anime style as such, that hair is almost close to what I want to achieve! :)
