Halfling, Uruk-Hai, Eldar Warlock, and High Elf

Hi everyone,

I haven\'t posted here in a looong time, and got a few shots of some old minis that i thought i would post the other day, and then thought i might post them on here as well. So here they are:

Eldar Warlock - Painted in 2003, and this is a new picture of the model i have had posted for a while which i always thought looked a bit blurry. I\'ve gotten a bit better, but i\'ve always resisted stripping him back and painting it again as it was the first time i managed to blend something like the sword and mask, even if i realise now it was badly done.

Uruk Hai Berserker - Painted a few years ago as well, and i was just messing around at the time, but liked how the flesh came out a bit redder than the other Uruk-Hai i was painting at the time:

Halfling Monk - An old chainmail figure i painted at the beginning of 2007 as a bit of a afternoon job to kill time. I wanted a fun base, and had broken the tab on his feet, so ended up doing this with a GW Orc spear. It was also my first try at NMM on the arm bands and kama blade, and i think i will be waiting till i\'m a better painter before trying that again:

High Elf Spearman - This is going to be repainted, but as part of a challenge there are a bunch of us posting \'before shots\' here of models we painted a while ago to see what we can come up with. This was painted in 1998 i think, and was what i considered \'finished\' at the time.

Comments etc welcome. As i said, they are either old or test models, but any feedback is good feedback. But have fun with criticism of the elf. The sad thing is, i can probably find more horrid paint jobs in my old boxes somewhere :)

the uruk hai and the halfling are nice. what has been done on the warlock aint bad either

one big thing - the flames on the uruk hai are highlighted the wrong way - flames are brighter towards the centre, always

Thanks for the comments. I think with the flame i noticed that not long after i painted it, but never went back and fixed it. I might have to do that one day. I\'m pretty sure that the gems on the Warlock are done upside down as well, which threw me for about a year until i re-read an article on painting gems and realised what i had done.

i would seriously recommend it, you\'d be surprised how much it would lift the mini.

as for the warlock, he seems barely started tbh and hadn\'t noticed that you had even painted the gems. up the contrast!
