Habitat Supply do it in a bag, dunno if it would be too big/out of scale tho

I\'m thinking the pan scourer might be the cheapest and easiest option so far tho
...think I\'m gonna have go have a play :D

1 - aquire suitable length of rope.
2 - kidnap or otherwise aquire Kate Moss
3 - locate a suitable tree limb, bridge or other place of attachment.

- secure (1) to (3) and insert (2)

Voila!

@ airhead - I am in the States (Baltimore, MD). I took a look through my hobby cabinet and found some Spanish Moss. I will see what I can do with it tonight. Thanks for the offer, though.

The pic just shows a clump that I pulled out of the bag and dyed with Dark Green Ink. I wanted to see the scale and texture of it on the Woldwarden. There is still alot to do on this mini before I can even think about adding the moss.

But please do not confuse Kate Moss with Kate Mosse.
The first is an overated English clotheshorse, the second is a talented English Authoress. (Labyrinth: A somewhat strange and convoluted tale concerning the demise of the Cathars in 12th Century France and the modern day tracing and continuation of the story. )

I have obviously no use for Kate Moss, but this Kate Mosse person sounds interesting. I shall have to see if I can scrounge up any of her works. Thanks for the tip, Mike. Always looking for new (to me) authors. :D

No Problem Jim.
If you can\'t find any over there let me know and I\'ll get hold of a copy of Labyrinth for you.
I\'m finding it very interesting as I know a little about the Cathars and their demise.

I am nearly finished with my Woldwarden and would like an opinion on the moss.

I wound up getting some Woodland Scenics Foliage. It is simply draped on for the time being. I am curious as to what you all think. Is it too much? Could I use more? When/If it is finally glued to the mini, it will hang down straighter, and I will touch it up with some paint. I was also thinking about adding some flock to parts of the stone as a lichen effect.

Thanks for the input,

Richard

I haven\'t done anything with dryer lint, but I recall hearing about an artist who used it. S/he would dry different coloured loads to end up with different coloured lint, so that could take care of painting it. You can get a pretty thick layer of lint drying fuzzy blankets or sheets that\'ll peel off in a nice layer.

Herr Bishop:
the more I\'ve looked at the moss on the arm the more I think that it doesn\'t look \"right\". Personally I think it should be on the highest point of the shoulder, and I think it looks a little too fluffy (sorry Alison) to really be Swampy style moss.

On a side note can I suggest that the Green armour could do with going a little lighter in order to strengthen the definition of the engraving.

(Oh yes ,, Sorry about the hi-jacking :D )

@Dragonsreach. The green around the runes was supposed to simulate the runes glowing. After mulling it over the last few days I have decided that I do not like it at all. It just seems too flat... or something. I will go back over it tonight, then re-read the Glowing Eyes by Cyril article and try it again.

After starting this mini I decided on adding the moss. I wanted to add some more different textures to make it seem like the Woldwarden had just been summoned. At first it was just the lichen effect on the stone that I wanted to try with the flock. Then the moss idea popped into my mind. I found a nice picture on the web with some wet looking, stringy moss hanging from a tree limb, and that was my inspiration. I am going to add a light layer of glue to a bit of the Woodland Scenics Lichen to see if that gives it a more stringy, wet look.after it drys. If not I may just scrap the idea and attempt the lichen effect.

Thanks for the input.

Even this pic is not quite right. The moss does not drape over the branch like on the left. I suspect that the photographer added that clump.

Instead it grows from the branch itself, more like the clump on the right. Then it is in long thin tendrils downward. Blows in the breeze. Gets pretty whipped off in hurricanes.
