Maybe so but then we don\'t have to watch it or own a TV as they say its a free country...we do get taxed to death instead though lol

we haven\'t seen a lick of darkness here in alaska for weeks...so the fireworks are not as cool, unless you\'re blind, then it\'ll sound impressive...

i\'ll just have to be content shootin\' my a.k. all day...i\'ll have to draw up a target of one of those snaggle-toothed redcoats, just to be in the spirit of things...

It never really sinks in with me just how beautiful this country is until night falls on teh fourth, and seemingly everyone is blowing stuff up. It sounds wierd, but hearing the explosions all around you, and knowing that they are all doing it for the same reasons, celebrating freedom (more so than Independence) makes it all come together. Through the good times and the bad, the people here would almost certainly say that this is the greatest place in the world to live, despite it\'s flaws. I tend to agree.

Well, I\'m full (broiled fish, not BBQ so I stuck to my diet) and I smell like gunpowder so my 4th was a moderate success. Now I\'m going to play around with paint for a bit and then shower and bed. It\'s been a pretty good day! Happy 4th!
