Happy Mother's Day!

Well, we took Ma to the usual buffet at the Wyndham (Formerly the Hilton)- they always have a good spread. Smoked pork, chicken in a green sauce, Mahi-mahi in a weird fruit-chunk laden sauce, and of course plenty of appetizers, dessert and a few breakfast items. We recycle our seasonal cards around the house- bring the old ones out, look at them then put away for next year. I think Mom looked at one that had my signature in crayon (of course now that one is nostalgic).
Recently, though Mom's been fighting a sinus infection and has been getting up at 2 am for no reason. At least school's out, so she doesn't have to work.

Until today I never knew mothers day was on different days in different countries............I sh*t myself when I saw someone saying happy mothers day on a different forum........I thought my wife would kill me, but was sure I'd already done mothers day this year, in the UK it was on the 10th March......phew

Yeah, we have the same problem around here. Mother's day in Mexico is also the 10th, whereas USA Mother's day is the 2nd Sunday and it being a border town, you get celebrations on both days.

Oops. Sorry for any confusion guys. I also didn't realize that Mother's Day was on different dates in various countries. We just finished ours here. Unfortunately for my wife and my mother and mother in law, my 4 year old son contracted some virus, and has been throwing up every few hours since Friday night. We've been in voluntary quarantine, and didn't want to expose anyone else until he's better. Not the best way to spend Mother's Day, but at least I had the foresight to pick up a Mother's Day card ahead of time, and stock the fridge with plenty of ingredients for home made desserts!

I recently had the same confusion with a friend from Singapore!! He posted "Happy Mothers day" on Facebook and I momentarily crapped my pants until I remembered it's done and dusted here. I never knew other countries got Mothers Days on different days, when I told him not to scare me like that again he simply said "It's mothers day everyday Chris!"
