Anyone got any wacky New Years customs? Our lot take to the front garden to be both bemused and amused by one of our neighbours, every year he brings in the New Year by taking pots and pans out for a bashing with a wooden spoon. Had become a thing, this year there were kids running up and down the road doing the same. Bizarre.
This year we let off some paper lanterns. Expected them to be more ikkle. About the size of a basketball, or a chinese lantern. Turned out to be ten times that size. One the provided part was lit they float off, out of sight. Reckon next year we could incorporate some symbology. Make up a some baggage we'd acquired that year we wish to imbue them with take with them as they float away. Unlikely to happen, we don't tend to embrace that kind of superstitious thinking, however pretty it might be.

ditto airhead. Ditto! Would be nice to have some more good luck. The end of the year for me and TBS wasn't too bad but the past three years have been rough for me. It would be nice to be able to find a job that pays close to what I used to make ($45k) a year so we don't have to worry about money any more. Would be really nice! Everything else can be dealt with but I'm tired of being so poor I have to scrounge for money to buy groceries.
