Hi guys and gals,
I just wanted to let you know that over the course of the next few weeks we will be getting Harbinger back up and running, in a fashion in any case. Initially Harbinger will have to exist as a download PDF magazine. This is due to the crippling cost of fighting my ex partners for control of the magazine and because I intend to refund all subscriptions to the old print version. Please understand that this will take time and the only way to achieve this is by going forward and generating new cash to pay off the old debts. All subscribers will be contacted in the coming weeks with an outline of the options that they will be able to choose.
I also wanted to let you know that along with the re-launch we are also creating what I hope will over the course of the next few years become a painting competition to rival the great Golden Demons. Unlike the Golden Demons though you, the public, will be responsible for selecting the winners. Every week we hope to have a new selection of minis for you to vote on much like the old Showcase. The winners of these weekly heats will go forward to the main competition where they will be eligible to win the main prize of at least $1000, and we will have an additional prize fund of around $1000 in cash as well as tons of minis donated from supporting manufacturers for winners of the various categories. The intention of this competition is to show off the wealth of non GW minis available. Up until now the only option has been the Golden Demons for enthusiasts to really showcase their painting talents, now through Harbinger we will give all of the other minis a chance to shine, and at the end of the day what would you rather win - a fancy sword, or cash? Also, due to the unique way in which we are structuring this competition it gives everyone the opportunity to both excel and win prizes.
We do have one small problem though, all of the names that we have come up with have been pretty lame so far, so we are having a competition to name the competition. Send me your ideas to Editor@harbingermagazine.com under the heading Painting competition name and whoever has the best idea will win a full set of Harbinger figures, including the un-released Harbingers of Fire, Secrets, the Seven Seas, and the Desert Wind.
Thanks for all of your support
Mark
