Harlequin sculpt

Hey,

I'd love your thoughts on my first wip 120mm harlequin scratch build. I'm happy with her so far, particularly her pose, but I'd love to know how others feel about it, I suspect it won't be to everyone's taste...

Two options...She's definately pushing off a flat wall towards battle, but she could either be holding onto the wall with her hand too, or I could tilt her slightly away from the wall and have that hand free. Thanks btw!

like the idea of her jumping into the fight with sword in top hand so what like brad pitt in that troy film in his first fight against the giant of a man if you have not seen the film worth a look

yup, that would look cool. Does she look 'gw' enough do you reckon (obviously she'll have her backpack, so imagine that bit for now)

Cool :) she'll certainly be worth going to town painting-wise I reckon - that'll be a real challenge. Any thoughts on what she could be jumping off?

looking good James, But....her proportions seem off. Hips (and little on the big side), Buttocks (the form looks to me in a relaxed position, sitting, and not stretched out down her leg), and her forearms (short?!? could be angle of camera and lack of hands?).

Maybe a little more added to the mask around the chin, looks abit round to me. hard to fit a face behind it. but thats me.

I'm guessing she will have a power sword and a Harlequin's kiss for weapons? if so I'd remove the clip on the pistol and fill out the fluting on the barrel.

Then again this all is just my two cents. Will be watching this thread to see how it turns out, and rooting the whole way.

Nice work so far C.
I thought it´s made from FIMO before reading through your blog post to found out it´s SuperSculpey. As I have to test those polymer clays (FIMO for me probably - more common in my area) - I´m wondering about your first experience with that. Is the body partially baked (based on different color) ?

@Alex - good suggestion mate :) I'll think about it.

@Exilejjb - this is going to be for GD, I can't get another figure in there without it getting moved to the open :) Would be cool to have her pushing off another person though! A terminator with a cut throat or something. Man that would be cool. Maybe I could still consider her leaping off the side of a viper or something though... hmmm...

@Mud_duck - Thank you thank you thank you! I've been looking at her backside and knowing its wrong, but I haven't been able to fix it right. I didn't mention it because I wanted to see if others spotted it without prompting. As for the hips, I'm quite happy with them, although her entire body is a little wider than I'd do again - more human than eldar. Aah well, too late now. As for the forearms, I'm not worried about them, I'll take her off the tin and mount her from the cork alone when I do the hands, and then Ill be able to use the wire that's embedded right now to extend the arm to any length I want it. Likewise, there is a plug worked into the end of the left forearm so that I can extend the wire to my hearts content without hassle :) At this stage I may remove the head and completely re-do it larger to bring it more in line with the width of the shoulders. The pistol thing was ony in the picture by accident, I might mod it to a harlequin's kiss, or I may scratch one, not sure yet. Either way it will be edited rather a lot!

@Phaty, I don't think it's too different from fimo to be honest. Yes it is partially cooked, because when I did the first bake, I left it in for a little too long and it discoloured. The lighter stuff is partially baked and partially raw when those pics were taken, eg. the mask - the middle portion is cured, and the rim is raw. meh. Good luck with it!

@Mickc22, thanks! :)
