This mini is by a young painter begging for comments. Can we help them out?

that\'s looking pretty cool, I am liking the concept of the freehand. Now some things I don\'t like:

1. the color choices. The green and red so close to each other gives me a sense of Christmas colors. the thing about the colors you chose that I like are the yellow, black and pink on the pants. If the whole model was done this way, it would have more unity visually.

2. the base work. it looks like you put quite a bit of work into painting the miniature, doesn\'t the base deserve some attention as well? A tip for bases is to look at pictures of where you want to set the miniature and the top 7 here and see what they use for bases, better yet, you can even ask them and most are more than willing to answer questions. Some organic things work really well on bases(tree roots for example). Also, don\'t paint the rim with a name, usually, it doesn\'t impress and takes away from presentation if done poorly. I hope all that helps and I don\'t come off as a jerk. Keep up the good work!

Just an update: This guy was not very nice. A week after this thread was opened and received more comments then any of his other minis I dropped him a note mentioning that he might want to thank those people who commented for him by doing the same on some of their minis. He wrote back a fairly rude note about doing quite well on his own.

Am I the only one who thinks its rude to beg for comments after 24 hours and then not give any thanks to those who do comment?
