We used to be forced to do them when in School if the ground was to hard to play Rugby.

Haven\'t done one in years.

Yup used to do them at school during P.E too back in the day, a well supressed memory until now haha.

Usually got to between 8 and 10, depending on when the first people dropped out really, was quite happy to give up soon after aslong as I wasn\'t the first ;)

Two lines 20m apart. You wait for the bleep, then have to get to the other line before the next bleep and so on. There are 10 shuttles per level, after each 10, the bleeps get closer together. There are 23 levels, i think the world record is about 18-19.

At college the higest anyone has got on my course this year is 13.1 (but i beat everyone at situps, which is all that matters :D)

Everyone should do 365 sit ups a year (366 in a leap year). How else do you get out of bed?

Are these standardized tests for school grades? We used to have a program in Canada called, imaginatively, the Canadian Fitness tests with various categories like sit-ups, flexed arm pull ups, wind sprints, that kind of stuff. You got graded from Bronze, Silver, Gold, or Excellence.

I think they quit doing them as the country started to get quite pathetic scores.

Is this the same thing?

Not really, its just to show your cardiovascular fitness levels. Some schools use it, some dont. The test is used world wide, so most contries will have it in some form (often in the military)

I haven\'t done a bleep test for a long long time (maybe 10 years now).

Closest I can get those now is barbell complexes when I\'m dropping weight ;) Puked a few times doing those too! Weee.

push-ups, sit-ups, and a two mile run with minuins and maximums (age 18-23 something like 42 PUs,52 SUs, and 15:40 on the run being the minuin for a total of 180 points), max being 300 points total, Then a sliding scale for age. I was so glad to hit 24 and get that extra 30 seconds on the run. I hate running period.:flame: I think that the most that I ever saw someone do was something like 100+ push-ups (military stander) in a minute, and here we gave him two minutes on a \"bar bet\".

Nope.

But I did have to take a freaking stress test before I came back over here.

The cardiologist ran it and said \"Your fine. Drop some weight and things will be even better.\" No brainer there.

So, to get your day started right, you have to \"come out of the closet\"?. Every day?

Well done Logan, Three Cheers!

Its been a while since i have done any bleep tests.

Actually 4 and a half years since my last one at school.

I cant remember the scores but i remember always being one of the last too finish. But i am a wing forward at football and also one of the best sprinters in my school.

I would not mind doing one now. Though i know already it would be considerably less. (Bulked up a little)

Apparently bleep tests are being phased out due to the competition element. There have been cases where people have passed out due to trying to hard to keep up.

People now reccommend the cooper run, this is where you run as far as you can in 12 minutes. It means theres less pressuree to run on past the point where you should stop.

Never done a beep test and don\'t want to either, years of playing rugby mean my knees are not the best all the turns and twists excerted during a beep test will get you eventually when you are older.

These days I get a choice, a 2.4km run a beep test or the rock port walk. Guess which one I opt for )

for the beep test you have to fail to meet the meet the beep to or three times before you fail that level.

As for the 2.4km run why does a 25 year old female get longer than a 45+ year old male??? and most of the girls still can\'t pass...
